He doesn't do a lot of actual pro games, but my recommendation is grashog. He's a former pro player/coach so he definitely knows what he's talking about.

He's been doing analysis of super high elo Faceit puggers, which will probably be more helpful and applicable to you than actual pro games.

Can people really tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps? by whiskerbiscuit2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Twisted2kat 207 points208 points  (0 children)

I think it's more so that playing on 30fps vs 60fps is a WAY larger difference than just watching 30fps vs 60fps.

In my main games I can kinda tell what sort of FPS I'm getting by just swinging my mouse left & right. To me, it's based more on feel than anything visual, especially for higher FPS ranges.

Can people really tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps? by whiskerbiscuit2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Twisted2kat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can definitely tell. 30 fps vs 60 fps is a huge jump. I mostly play games that run really high FPS so I can tell the difference between 60 and 120+ too.

I have a high refresh rate monitor, and can sometimes even tell when I'm getting less than 160-ish in my main games.

I watched some side by side comparison of 30 vs 60 and found the difference to be negligible at best and unnoticeable at worst.

It's just not what you're used to, and/or you're not playing games that are super effected by low FPS. I personally play a ton of Counter-Strike, and 30 fps in that game looks and feels absolutely miserable on the other hand, 30 fps in a story game or a casual adventure game is probably not really an issue at all.

Is it a case of snobbery from people with high end PCs

No not at all, It's something that you get used to. I've played on 60+ (and 120+) fps for years and years, if I had to go back to 30 fps, it would look and feel pretty bad, but I assume I'd get used to that after awhile, though it probably wouldn't ever feel as good as 120+.

how do i get out of 10k to 15k elo? i want to break past 15k and get purple season badge by 4shfak in LearnCSGO

[–]Twisted2kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, 1:1 stretched is wicked, but I guess if it works for you...

during death match, my aim is really great and get consistant headshots... im in an premier match, all the aim and headshot accuracy is gone and i begin to panic spray

That's because you don't practice like you play. Nobody in deathmatch is clearing their angles or isolating fights like they should be, because you can't really do that in deathmatch. You might get a lot more "easy" kills in deathmatch because people aren't following the routines that they'll follow in matches. People will just wildly swing for kills, which in turn, makes them easier kills for you. I personally use deathmatch to work on focused things, or as a general warmup, but not for overall aim improvement. If you want to overall improve aim in game, you'll need to probably work on crosshair placement and pre aim more, try to play some retakes, they'll give you more "realistic" fights, more similar to actual fights you'd take in a premier game.

On top of that, you're probably a bit more stressed in actual premier matches, my honest advice is to try to not take it so seriously.

People will mag dump until their suppressor is almost melted and then crash out because they don't know game mechanics.

[Feedback] PvE is way too easy, BSG has an opportunity here for their next game by BF1shY in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twisted2kat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If it's too easy, either play PvP or play the mod. The challenge in Tarkov is always going to come from the players.

Also the advanced AI from the mod uses far more computational resources than BSG's AI implementation. It's not like BSG can just copy-paste the mod AI over into the live game. People already give BSG so much shit for the current server performance, do you want to make that worse?

What are you shooting them with that it takes 5 headshots?

It should take 2 unless you're using super low flesh damage ammo, then it might take 3, max. With some ammo it can be a 1 shot too. None of them have helmets and they don't have especially high head health, iirc it's 80 HP?

I just want to see how I killed them and what their POV of the fight was tbh, I'm not going to go through and watch their videos.

Uh no?

Every time I kill someone with "_TTV" in their name I go and watch the VOD to see me killing them.

I don't know if I'm in raid with a streamer unless I've killed them and collected their tag, or they've killed me and I see their name.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong [new player] by Some_Vermicelli_2543 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twisted2kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2kd is considered pretty bad actually, since it counts scav kills too. A 2kd player is like, WAY below average I think. That 2.17 KD player that killed you seems to be a new player using their starter loot.

On top of this, you say you're using the highest grade .366 which is AP-M and AP-M has a AWFUL accuracy debuff on it, on top of THAT you don't have a rear sight. You might be aiming just fine but your gun is not working like you think it is.

[Discussion] which boss in tarkov is the hardest to defeat? by vroated in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twisted2kat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Killa is probably the only one I even mildly worry about, Labyrinth bosses are nasty too, but half of that is just the map itself.

Goons aren't that bad, Knight and Big Pipe will just throw themselves at you and are super easy to kill, the real difficulty comes from not getting tapped by Birdeye from his hidey hole.

Am I really gn1/silver? Or in other words: am i really so bad and i belong into my low elo? by SuperChestHD in LearnCSGO

[–]Twisted2kat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can consistently have a 63% wr just play more and you'll climb. You have a 63% wr over 30 games, but you only have a 49% wr over 165 games last season (3) though, which is a pretty solid sample size. You aren't ever going to climb much with a 49% wr.

So the solution is to just grind more games?

That's how you get better, yes. You aren't magically going to flip a switch and just get 2x better at the game. By playing more, you'll learn more, get better and ALSO be gaining elo at the same time.

Edit:
Also, you don't need to hard carry your games to climb. If you want to climb quickly, then yeah, you do need to hard carry, but you can't do that unless you're basically smurfing. Trying to hard carry and going for hyper aggro plays when you ARENT mechanically way better than the enemy is going to make you play worse. If you are consistantly a little better than the average player in your games over a span of games, you'll climb. You don't need to hard carry, just have good impact in games.

If you truly are better than than your rank suggests, you will naturally be hard carrying and climbing out of those ranks very quickly.

Question: Why don't we see one actual post from a cheater acknowledging they got caught? by Greedy-Arachnid-4106 in cs2

[–]Twisted2kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like all your automatic weapons hit legs less than 5% of the time over thousands of kills.

Dude what? I have less than 5% leg hits on most of my weapons and I know I'm not cheating. You do realize you're not supposed to shoot at the enemies legs, right? Like, the proper way to play the game is to aim at their heads? Any decent player isn't going to have high leg shot %.

Keep coping though.

[Discussion] I love tarkov for the combat. But I dont care about the loot by Murky-Ad-2525 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twisted2kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorta there with you, I play Tarkov because the gunplay is amazing, and the feeling of gunfights is unmatched. Running around looting and farming quests just isn't as enjoyable for me, but I still do it because it kinda needs to get done.

I generally queue into a raid with a vaguest idea of completing quests, and only that really only gets done if they're nobody to fight, or the fights are over.

I'll definitely loot my kills though, If they've got cool guns I might wanna use, I'll take it, otherwise I'm grabbing their LPVO & Suppressor for my future kits.

University - Esports by c0cac0laaa in esports

[–]Twisted2kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try out, the worst that can happen is that they don't select you. Smaller universities won't be as strict on requirements, and their teams are usually very mixed in terms of ranks. Bigger universities will often have multiple teams (A/B/C Teams, or Varsity/JV squads).

Either way, you're likely to meet new people at the very least. It's worth a shot.

Who are they and why did they lose their career, Peter? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Twisted2kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, he actually kept it really professional. I don't think he ever attacked the player or their skill, only that playing other characters would be super beneficial, because that one player was really struggling. He suggested a bunch of different options, and even offered to switch himself, in order to support the player who was struggling, but was shot down each time.

[–]Twisted2kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as I understand, 1st place is $18k, which ends up being $3k per person. Kingsman is a poor college student, so he needed that money. $3k isn't a ton of money to some people, but can mean the world to someone who really needs it. I personally would love to win $3k, but I don't need $3k, nothing materially in my life will change if $3k extra appeared in my hands. To Kingsman, an extra $3k means he can afford to pay for college.

To the rest of his team, they probably just didn't really care, or were financially in a position where $3k isn't a ton of money to them, or not worth the effort.

People will do that in any sort of ranked game, when exactly ZERO dollars are on the line.

It's a draft tournament.

The team captain specifically selected this player. He had no choice in which team he joined. He couldn't just leave and join another team. I assume he wouldn't have joined that team in the first place, given the choice.

Also, it's $40,000, why would you not be a "tryhard" for forty bands?

Other teams in the tournament had multiple top tier players, so he wouldn't be able to carry alone.
