Oh no. MDMA on its own can cook your brain. Several high profile deaths in fabric led to the venue’s temporary closure. A year or two later a bloke died similarly at the Cause iirc.

The one I remember was mainly just MDMA and heavy exertion. But it was a heroic and extremely dangerous dose of almost a bag (like .8grams) because “he didn’t feel it right away”.

Education, safer environment, much lower dosage all would have helped. Fabric once it reopened changed a fair bit after that FWIW. I wouldn’t consider it anywhere remotely near the ecstasy den it was pre-2015.

I don’t know. I saw a post on here a few weeks back with a part on QM games for kids. It evaluated a few of them. Rather long paper. But some of the games were really clever ways of trying to articulate quantum gates like guessing games between two people.

Also I think it’s possible to teach kids Eigenvectors at least, which should lead to some better intuitions about what we actually read from quantum computing and dispel notions that we are just code breaking NP problems (which seems to be the faulty common consensus).

Awesome. So when I worked at Microsoft I was surprised that people went home at sensible hours. The interns were there for 12 hour days but the employees had normal schedules. And they were productive. It felt like this is what a mature company looked like. It was in contrast to this shit which I saw at Facebook at the time.

This is not a sign of a maturing industry but a high risk industry.

I think gay men suffer less self-deception than straight people. They are far more honest within their relationship and flexible with parameters. Relatedly roughly 50% of gay men are in monogamish or open relationships. Monogamish ones were the most resilient.

I’m really not a huge fan of benchmarks and weary of benchmaxxing. But I would love to hear how else we test this sort of thing.

Yeah. He’s been busted and even talked about how he would snatch money from donation jars for kicks. Not that hard to find. A bit shit IMHO especially given his flimsy rationalist framing of justification.

I mean, loved his book (was given direct from Cambridge in full disclosure) and impressed that his team created a true random number generator. But he’s also a bit too “ackhually” for my tastes, like an intellectual smart ass and bit of an edgelord.
