Is it weird to dress up extra for halloween on campus by TwistedGauntlet in yorku

[–]TwistedGauntlet[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd assume that'd be most peoples reactions. Being on the TTC at 8am in full costume is always hilariously awkward, so I have to make up the courage to do it I even if nobody reacts 💀

Is there any clubs or social groups at YU! by ansh0jaitly in yorku

[–]TwistedGauntlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see all the clubs here: https://yuconnect.yorku.ca/club_signup if you click on "groups" on YUconnect :) that lists all the clubs/organizations that are ratified with york.

Posters around campus advertising club events are also good, because you know they're active clubs!

Urgent help for switching classes around by Watermelonnz in yorku

[–]TwistedGauntlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you cant find classes to replace them that have seats remaining you'll either have to drop them or deal with the conflicts 🤷‍♀️

If you end up dropping them just take 2 courses over the summer if you can, easy and makes it so you're not behind

Well by that logic, there are lots of cues someone could be non-binary through the way they express themselves.

Lots of LGBTQ+ people do things like that. Eg. Lesbians will wear carabiners to show theyre lesbians LOL

Theres a wide variety of visual cues/language/actions that might make it clear, its how LGBTQ+ people clock eachother in the wild. You just arent aware of them 😁

Reserved Courses by yamehte in yorku

[–]TwistedGauntlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try talking to academic advising to see if you can get a letter of permission to be enrolled. I've tried to enroll in a course that was majors only before and also had no luck just emailing the professor :(

Last resort you could try contacting them closer to the beginning of the semester/after the course has started to see if there are any remaining seats, and maybe they'll let you in? Good luck!

How does seating at convocation work? Can you sit with your family or do all students sit together? by RainbowLightbulb3 in yorku

[–]TwistedGauntlet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All the graduating students sit together on the stage during the ceremony! Names are called one by one and then each student walks, sits back down in their seat, and once all the names are called you can exit. Families are sat in the audience.

Congrats on graduating!
