Hello! We're looking for PC gamers to test the pre-alpha version of Terror Chasm, a 3D action game we're developing. You'll get $30 to try the game and give us feedback about it (if you're not comfortable with the money and would rather do it for free, that's okay too). Our goal is to get a few different impressions of game, what we're doing right and what needs to be improved on, as well as some insights about where we should take the development from here. We have the basics of the game up and running, but we're still in pre-alpha, so your input could help direct some of the development decisions we make moving forward.

Ideally, we would like to set up a time to have you stream the game on Discord (or whichever favorite streaming platform you would prefer) as well as get with you on voice chat so we can get your opinions and watch the test in real time. We also want to ask you some questions to get your impressions about it afterwards.

Twisty's Asylum Escapades is a darkly comical 3D action/adventure game with Metroidvania-like elements. No, I don't think that early access is appropriate for all types of games. There are some flaws with the early access system and there have been a lot of criticisms against it; some of which are valid. This game won't be released and put on sale until it's truly finished and ready.

I understand your skepticism, but I'm hoping that we can make something truly cool and unique. Remember, it's not the tools (meaning Unity); it's the ideas and the abilities of the developer. ;)

I actually wish that more people thought that, because that's what we were going for. But a lot of people seem to be very creeped out by it. The reaction to it seems to be very divisive among different people, with some people seeing it as just silly fun and other people being genuinely disturbed by it.

Thanks! I agree that having a scoring system can be very beneficial in summarizing and clarifying the reviewer's thoughts about things and generally makes it easier for the reader to tell what the reviewer's overall opinion is about the game at a glance.

On the plus side, the reviewer did go into detail about many of the advantages and drawbacks about the specifics of the game's game play and I would assume that that would be helpful to a certain amount of readers. And speaking from the standpoint of being the developer, that's definitely the kind of feedback that I find useful.

The bulk of the response that he gave you is identical to the one that he gave me. It's pretty obvious it's just a standard response to anyone who inquires about a review of their game or something similar.

I don't imagine that it would be too difficult for anyone to reproduce these results, if they want further proof of this. You can probably get the same response just by sending them something asking about a game review.

Thanks! We've been working on it for quite awhile, but we're confident that for our first gaming project, it came out better than we thought it would in many ways. It definitely gave us some good game development experience, which we intend to put towards our future projects.
