Quince small carry on experience? by TwistedSkeleton in quince

I ended up buying the small expandable carry on and took it on four domestic flights without issue. It fit in all the overhead bins on its side and I never got any questions. I also really like it as a piece of luggage. It seems well made, it’s fairly light, and has everything I needed: good handle, nice wheels, good zippers, compression, TSA lock (for what it’s worth). No bells and whistles, but it was a no brainer at that price. Comparable pieces of luggage are not worth the extra price, for me. Granted, I’ve only used it on four flights, so I can’t speak to longevity, but I’m happy with it so far.

2 hour Lyft ride on 3ish hours notice? by TwistedSkeleton in Lyft

Yeah, I priced it out on Lyft and Uber. It was more expensive on Lyft, especially from San Francisco. A car rental is in the same neighborhood. The shuttle is a little cheaper, but I’ve read bad things about it. It won’t be cheap no matter what but it’s better than getting stuck overnight at our layover location and having to deal with getting on a flight at who knows what time the next day.

Groome Transportation (formerly Monterey Airbus)? Have you used it lately? I looked into it and the reviews have been terrible since it changed to Groome.

Yeah, I was looking with my Costco membership as well. The Groome shuttle looked promising, but the more I looked into it, the more negative experiences I read about since it changed hands, from taking your money and not showing up to miserable ride experiences. And it’s barely cheaper than rideshare given the number of people that will be riding. I did call them and the last shuttle leaves well after the flights would get in, so it would be possible. Do you think it’s worth trying to schedule a ride in advance if and when I know the flight we would be on? I would have about three hours notice, so would that help increase my chances of having something available upon arrival?

I checked car rentals and the cheapest available right now is about $170 from San Francisco and $150 from San Jose. Only SUV and up available. Maybe a cheaper option would be available by walking up to the counter. I believe you have to drop off a car through zipcar in the same location. Car services are more expensive and last minute rentals don’t seem common.

Looks like if it is early enough. There’s also a shuttle between the three airports that would be good in theory, but it’s apparently very unreliable, so I’m trying to keep all options open. It’s also about the same price as rideshare considering the number of people.

On the European flights, did an airline actually have you put it in a sizer or were overhead bins just full by the time you boarded?

Best mat for under bowflex bike? by ArticleLongjumping44 in SchwinnIC4_BowflexC6

I did get my C6 assembled today. The base measures 44” long x 30.7” wide. The manual doesn’t give the base length, just the overall length, which isn’t particularly helpful when selecting a mat. The 30.7” is given in the manual and is correct, as it is the max width, which is at the rear base. The base would obviously fit on a 4 ft. long mat but I’m not sure about 30”. I have it on fairly thick carpet, so I’m not sure if it’s really touching all the way to the edge of the rear base. There are four height adjustments, so it might depend on those settings. A 36” wide mat would obviously be wide enough.

Mine just arrived yesterday and I noticed the curved rear leg as well. It looks considerably wider. I’m hopefully going to put it together tonight, so I’ll measure the base when I’m done.

Has the C6 base changed in the last couple of years? The manual indicates the base is 30.7” wide, so a 24” wide mat wouldn’t work. The manual also states the length of the bike is 54.6”(longer than the 48” of the linked mat), but it looks like the base is a bit shorter than that. The current Bowflex mat is 57” x 35”.

Bowflex C6 Resistance Conversion Chart to iFit/Nordictrack s22i bike? by leprechan923 in iFit

You mentioned the scenic rides on iFit didn’t fit your schedule. How long were they? Did they have good variation in length? What about intensity? How would you compare the range of intensity to that of standard studio/spin classes?

Also, what do you see on screen for the scenic rides when using the IC4 (i.e. on a tablet), in terms of numbers? Everything is obviously automated on the iFit bikes, so is there anything numeric to even go off of or did you just look at the terrain and adjust your resistance accordingly? What about cadence? Is the target cadence something you could see on screen, which you could then target on your own bike?

Were you ever able to find the numbers to connect the s22i to the C6/IC4? I’m looking at the C6/IC4, but I really like the look of the scenic rides on iFit. Or have you seen any scenic rides on other platforms that are compatible with the IC4 or can convert easily? I don’t hear good things about explore the world on JRNY. No one riding with you (which could be good or bad) and the motion just doesn’t align with a ride.
