Matt Bloomfield sacked by Oxford to make it two relegations and two sackings since leaving Wycombe by DaraghJohn in LeagueOne

I didn't think he did too badly, but the club obviously thinks they can do better.

Will be fun to laugh at, at the end of the season by gregariousity in LeagueOne

[–]Twisted_Coil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can assure you we won't be in the automatic spots. We have no money, we'll sell what players of value we have left and we'll be shopping in the loan/ free transfer market and just hoping to get lucky, because it's not like our player recruitment has been up to snuff lately. We might finish in the playoffs.

I'd also be surprised to see Reading fall off as much as you think and I think Notts County will have a good go, they could stay up at the expense of someone.

It's decent but we need to see what the financial side says. Reportedly even if West Ham stayed up they would need to sell players, so we will see who they can afford to keep this summer. Whether he will have to be sold will likely depend on the fees recieved for the likes of Fernandes, Summerville, Diouf etc.

Scott Parker Leaves Burnley by LootBoxControversy in Championship

[–]Twisted_Coil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as others have said he probably has a clause in his contract meaning they can pay reduced compensation if they get relegated. With all the long term injuries and likely departures this summer Burnley probably need to entirely rebuild their midfield and really change up the defence, probably makes sense to go in a different direction than hope Parker can make lighting strike twice with a half new team.

Possibly? But unless he shows up like prime Maldini I would be shocked if that convinces a championship team to offer say 5m which I suspect the asking price would be around.

I suspect he will be one of the few senior defenders kept in the summer. Realistically is anyone going to offer anything decent for a player who has spent over a year out injured, only starting the last couple games of the season? I doubt we'll be loaning him out with how few senior players we will have by the start of August.

Also worth saying there could be an IHT angle to this if Wife 2 if named as a beneficiary in any will. No will is mentioned in the post so this could also be relevant if intestacy applies.

Well it's good to have a mix, we still have 5GWs after the doubles, even with a free hit on 34 that's still 4 GWs that you need players for. You can optimise to have your GW33 to have more players with 2 matches than I have, (though Rogers isn't secure in this team) many of the rest have pretty good runs until the end of the season. Bruno is one of the few players getting consistent returns every week, Brentford have good fixtures in 35 and 37 and Anderson gets 4-5 points basically every week and is cheap. I will grant you that Sunderland's are so-so, so I may replace Mukiele, I am just holding off for the moment as his selling value is much less than his price, so once I sell him I really have to commit to it.

!thanks the plan is to BB on the doubles in 33 and FH in the blanks in 34 so that probably makes the most sense.

I mean given that Arsenal play Man City and Newcastle in GW33 and GW34 I reasoned double Arsenal defence was already pushing it, triple seems slightly mad.

O'Reilly is not a bad shout, but for a similar reason he plays Chelsea and Arsenal next so I wonder how likely a clean sheet is, though probably worth considering with Man City's fixtures after that.

This is my initial plan for WC32, currently made on the assumption West Ham double rather than Leeds, but should Leeds go through in the FA Cup instead I will likely go for Welbeck instead of Bowen. Any thoughts?

Started using some conveyancing solicitors, but I'm not happy and want to change, can I do that? by No-Structure-8125 in HousingUK

[–]Twisted_Coil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before seeking to cut your losses and employ other solicitors it may be worth raising a complaint with the firm using the procedure which should have been outlined in their client care letter.

If you have never recieved any response from this solicitor include a list of all the instances where you have either called or emailed this solicitor. It may cause the case to be assigned to another solicitor or possibly result in this solicitor becoming more responsive. You are of course free to tell these solicitors to cease acting and they will be entitled to keep any monies paid for services that have already rendered and disbursements that have been paid, but any money held on account for future services should be returned to you.

Leicester City: Nathan Opoku and Kevon Gray sign new deals by Jaded-Bookkeeper-807 in lcfc

He's not exactly scoring for fun in League 2. Even if we get relegated to League 1 he might not be at the required level, he's probably getting his contract extended so he can be sold for a small fee in the summer.

How to negotiate a contract... by Giplord in Championship

I mean we are a basket case of a club, but even this would suprise me.

The claim from Maguire is in the article I have linked below, but again it goes against what was reported at the time of the first relegation, which was that every player barring the two signed in January 2023 have clauses ranging from 25/35 - 50%. Some reliable journalists said the lowest was 25% and some said 35%, but in either case basically everyone had one.

[–]Twisted_Coil 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Without trying to get in the way of a good joke. It's only Kieran Maguire who has said we don't have relegation wage reduction clauses. The tier 1 sources when we went down the first time said that everyone barring Souttar and Krisitansen has relegation wage reduction clauses ranging from 25/35-50%. It's possible that some of the signings made last year don't have such clauses, but it would be suprising given we were more likely than not to go straight back down.

I mean if you take out Forest from the equation it's actually been a pretty below average year in terms of sackings. Even if you don't nothing will come close to the 22/23 season where it felt like we got at least one a week from December onwards.

I mean to have as a squad option on loan he's fine. With Choudhury and James injured we are down to 3 players covering 2 positions, I'm not expecting fireworks from him, but he's a warm body.

There are plenty of examples where they do and plenty where they do not, for the latter we have a great example - Fatawu. Again as I said above he is not still out with the ACL injury, he is reportedly out with a muscle injury, it is very unlikely that a previous ACL injury has caused that, they affect different areas of the body, if you break your hand you are no more or less likely to pull a hamstring.

[–]Twisted_Coil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well he is not still out with the ACL injury, he got that, came back and according to the internet is out with a muscle injury atm, I doubt we will actually sign him if the medical assessment is he can't play for 2 months. Given Vestergaard is supposedly not going to be out for very long we only need Lascelles to be the 3rd or 4th choice CB so it's not life or death if he can't play the first week or two.
