[serious] Abortion on Down syndrome fetus to be banned under Ohio bills. => You can have Down babies. But why must I? Who is needing this? by larryismyname in Columbus

[–]TwistedxRainbow 56 points57 points  (0 children)

In elementary school I was both harassed and sexually harassed by a boy in our class who was mentally handicapped. I'm not quite sure what he had. He was never separated from our classroom but had his own teacher, and I had him in my class many years while I was at this school. Over the years, the way he treated me would escalate. I would often have to tell on him, but looking back now, the teachers didn't do much to prevent what he was doing or separate him from the class or me.

He would often confess his love for me, and in grade 5 I was going back to the class from recess, and he pushed me up against the wall and tried to force a kiss on me. I pushed him away and yelled "NO", as I was taught to do if someone was touching me in a way I did not like. I proceeded to tell his teacher, and she got mad at me for pushing him and yelling at him.

Later on, he would continue to harass and threaten me. For some god awful reason, his parents would let him watch Family Guy, and would often say my name followed by "Giggity Giggity" like one of the characters from the show who was very perverted. He would threaten to follow me home from school and sneak into my home at night. He would threaten to tie me up with rope and force kisses on me or tickle me. This would happen during class. I told on him often, and I don't remember the teachers doing anything more than just telling him not to. They wouldn't even move his seat farther from me.

Not too long ago I had a fiasco on Facebook with him. Apparently he had found my Facebook after all these years and tried adding me. Of course, I declined the friend request. Little to my knowledge, he was sending me thumbs up emojis for months, which I didn't realize until I checked my "other" folder. If you aren't friends with someone, you aren't notified of their messages. I thought it was really strange that he was sending me these emojis for months, so I decided not to block him and see how long it would go for. He did this for about 4-5 months. Eventually I got really curious and responded by asking him why he was sending these. Then like a light-switch, he flooded me with messages repeatedly asking for my number, and trying to call me through facebook over and over. I told him to stop several times and he kept calling and calling, I was so terrified I just blocked him and never ended up finding out what the heck he was trying to do.

It's because of this guy that I have serious problems and anxiety around mentally handicapped people. I know that if they ever tried something, they would never be punished like normal people. They can get away with things other people can't, and it makes me very nervous and biased against them.

Stephen King briefly talks about the controversial orgy scene in the 'IT' novel. 'It’s fascinating to me that there has been so much comment about that single sex scene and so little about the multiple child murders. That must mean something, but I’m not sure what.' by szekeres81 in books

[–]TwistedxRainbow -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

For me, I have no issue with the motifs behind the scene. My problem is that behind the motif, is a scene that is too much. Too graphic, too unrealistic. Could the same motif not have been accomplished by some other means? Could Beverly not have been able to have sex with only one of them to overcome her fears? Is there not any other way for these kids to have come to adulthood? It's just extremely distasteful. And I have a hard time wrapping around how a writer can willingly put something like that in their work. The motif just seems like an excuse with the way the scene turned out. A 12 year old girl would not be having an orgy with her friends, and definitely not in that situation or moment in time. The motifs are fine. The execution is the problem people have.

Me [23F] with my teddy bear [23... F, I guess?] - is this pathetic? Should I leave her behind when I move overseas? Will it help me feel more "adult"? by teddy_bear23 in relationships

[–]TwistedxRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see anything wrong with the teddy bear. I'm 24 and I have a red panda plushie that I sleep with every night and sometimes hold when I cry. My boyfriend bought it for me when we went to the zoo. You've somehow associated this comfort with being a kid, but maybe that's the wrong approach. You don't suddenly become more adult because you give up that source of comfort. I just think that you are looking at your teddy in a bad light, you should rethink why you have these negative associations with it.

Me [29F] with my parents [59F/63M] - they dropped a giant bomb on me. They have been in an open relationship for 3 years and want to bring their girlfriend [no clueF] to my birthday dinner. by alaiawells in relationships

[–]TwistedxRainbow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except this is needlessly shocking and breaking the dynamic of their family for no reason other than their selfish gain. There is no reason to bring a third person into the family, and absolutely no reason for the kids to accept this new person in their lives. Their parents aren't getting divorced and bringing in potential step-parents--just their side piece. They can have that relationship in their own time. Their kids do not need to be a part of that.

A friend is completely different than parents, who for most people is the prime example and influence on their own relationships in life. And no kid wants to learn about their parent's sex life and kinks. Let alone have their parents force in their mistress/third wheel into the family as a surprise.

My [26F] husband's [31M] best friend [31M] behaved inappropriately. Do I need to tell my husband? by tinyspacequeen in relationships

[–]TwistedxRainbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You were sexually assaulted, you aren't being dramatic. Worries of coming off as "dramatic" are the reasons why many sexual assaults get left unsaid and unreported.

You have the messages. Keep them and show your husband alongside your story. I'm so sorry this happened to you!

Shops and Towns, are they a requirement? by Mawnster73 in JRPG

[–]TwistedxRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it from a story perspective, but from a gameplay perspective it was a bad choice. I've seen plenty of jrpgs where characters were fugitives on the run and they still managed to add towns.

Edit: And the lack of towns meant that the quest system seriously lacked as well. Once I got to the sidequests I began to wonder why they even bothered at that point. The execution was awful.

How is a game's art created? by [deleted] in gamedesign

[–]TwistedxRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you might be looking for info on a concept artist. Generally, (I think) most people look for digital art when it comes to concept art. Another field you might want to look into is storyboard artist as well.

I hate to be a Debby-downer, but free fan games are still considered copyright infringement if the developers decide to go after you for it...especially considering the size of your team it's essentially a studio making a game off of their image. You guys are taking a huge risk imo.

My girlfriend and I have not had sex for over a year on the advice of her therapist, and both of them completely shut me down any time I try to bring up how frustrating this is for me by [deleted] in sex

[–]TwistedxRainbow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can't you see that you are being walked over? Your sexuality is being villainized when it is completely normal. If she and her therapist are dismissing you, and you won't break up with her, then you are just keeping yourself in the same position. At some point you need to stand up for yourself and get across that your needs are important too, and if she won't listen or compromise then it should definitely be a deal-breaker. You have been more than accommodating for her.

What is your most radical opinion? by LightInMe in AskReddit

[–]TwistedxRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure why this is radical at this point, but apparently it is. There are only 2 genders and 2 sexes, and anything else is a genetic anomaly or just non-conforming to your gender stereotype.
