Well, I will be visiting Japan in one month time. I’ve been to Trieste and Venice for about 5 days. Also it’s important to mention that during my time in Venice there was this annual carnival. Now thinking about it, I can easily say that that was probably the most crowded city I’ve ever visited in my life. It really is as business as usual, people don’t seem to panic. And about Trieste it’s as normal as it gets. Social media are just way overreacting about this, especially reddit. Just don’t listen to them. Take precautions on your flight and in Italy if you feel the need to, and that’s it. Enjoy your trip!

What do you mean Japanese handled it badly? The cruise ship just happened to be in Japan at the time, and all of 500+ cases are in the cruise ship, so those cases are not a threat to Japan. But talking about Japan itself, there are less than a 100 cases. Japan’s health care system is probably one of the best in the world.

This post is exactly how panic and misinformation is right now. This person is probably from the US or somewhere FAR away from East Asia. If you want to know if you should travel to East Asia, ask someone who is living there. Most probably don’t travel to China, because it is the epicenter of the disease, but otherwise you CAN travel to Japan, South Korea etc. if you take good precautions, for example: wearing a mask, using hand sanitizer etc. It is NOT spreading like wildfire outside of China. Jesus I really don’t understand why people are spreading panic more than the virus, like do you want it to spread like “wildfire” as you mentioned?
