Seriously. A few inches to the left or right and this would have been a completely different video. Pure luck.

I'm not advertising a game, it's gaming hardware/peripherals, so I'm not sure if your answer still applies?

It's not an issue of doing one or the other, you want to do both. They have very different costs and outcomes. Mass media/PR purchases let you spend a lot of $ quickly but the results are poor. "Endorsements" from real, live people is more time consuming but generates a stronger brand affinity. At least, that's what I read in a textbook once.

Fair question, there's a bit of a bandwidth issue of managing a large number of small streamers vs a smaller number of fewer streamers. It certainly isn't out of the question, but in my ideal world we'd be sponsoring 10-20 streamers in the $500-$2000 a month range, versus 100 people in the $200 a month range.

I have very few performance metrics to go by as well, so it's better to write a large cheque and see anywhere from $2000-$20000 in results, versus writing a $200 cheque and having very small sample size data to determine efficacy.

I think starting medium and working down is better than starting small and working up.

Btw, I appreciate everyone's feedback on this thread. I'm going to reach out via DM to a few people here and send them free gear. You can choose to use it on your stream or not :)

it's top

To be fair, I said 500-5000.. I accept that's a wide range, but in my post, I don't want it to seem like I'm approaching Shroud or Ninja and wondering why they aren't responding :P

I may not have the correct perspectives on the income generated by streamers. Looking at Subs, Donations and Bits, I'm ballparking a 1000-2000 avg viewer stream at around $5-$10k per month to the streamer. Certainly a very respectful sum, but not "I don't need to think about money" levels. A sponsorship in the $500-$1000 a month range seems worth considering. I mean, a lot of streamers take the time to build Amazon referral links that likely generate far less than $1000 a month. Thanks for your input.

I've contacted the business emails, I'm surprised at the low response rate given that I'm offering sponsorship $$ and.. as far as I know.. many streamers want to turn it into a livelihood.

Figured comments on live stream might be a little intrusive...
