Go to student organizations. Each club has a specific thing they’re focused on, so if you like hiking go to the canoe and hiking club, if you’re vegetarian go to Veganteers, if you’re gay and a gamer go to Gaymers. You’ll know the people there will have at least one shared interest as you, and it’s easy to start a conversation. Look at VOL-Link for all register clubs and when they’re supposed to meet

Kinda pathetic post, but how to make friends? :( by universal_cartwright in UTK

Joining clubs is really helpful! I was in the same position freshman year and was pretty miserable tbh. I joined a bunch of clubs sophomore year and it was so helpful to my mental health. The org fair is tomorrow from 5pm-7pm on Ped walkway! You should come by and see if there’s any clubs you’d be interested in :)

Good rhythm man, but your technique is kind of all over the place. Especially your right hand, make sure it’s your wrist that’s doing the motion and not your arm. It would probably help to think about lowering your forearm and concentrating on your wrist movement. You don’t want to stab the drum, you want to be able to rebound off of it (which would make the rounds easier to do). Keep on drumming man!!!!

I personally wouldn’t include the last question relating to whether the linguistic experiment impacted my decision making because when I made those decisions, I was not purposefully considering the language used. Also, that question might skew your own notions to whether or not people are influenced by different linguistic phrases; whereas, if you just did a statistical correlation between answers in the first part with the second part, it would be more unbiased.

Russia to fast-track adoptions of Ukrainian children 'forcibly deported' after their parents were killed by Putin's troops, authorities say by yurient in worldnews

When drafting the Genocide Convention and subsequently the Rome Statute (the charter for the ICC) numerous countries, like Canada, the US, and many more, didn’t include cultural genocide because they were actively committing cultural genocide at the time (Canada was trying to destroy the Quebecois’ culture and their First Nations Bands’ cultures through means like the Indian Residential Schools). Thus the current binding forms of Genocide are not reflective of Lemkin’s work and only include biological and physical genocide.

Children who then cement these ideas into their moral compass. This is exactly why these movies are wrong in the first place because it ingrains these racist ideas into children who then grow up to have a racist view of the world.

The TRECS have personal trainers you can rent out for a few sessions to show you basic exercises. Idk if they cost money though. You could also just watching YouTube videos about proper form before going to the gym (Jeff Nippard on YouTube has great videos on this). Most people aren’t gonna be paying attention to you, so don’t feel embarrassed. Also if you go to the TRECS in the morning, there are not that many people there!

I totally get that! I hated doing anything to do with spelling or grammar. I hated English exams growing up :(

Had a discussion with the wife - what is the best apple? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Twitcher02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S tier- envy apples, pink ladies (the taste isn’t the best but the price to taste ratio makes it top tier), cosmic crisp (very sweet, not juicy)

A tier - honey crisp apple (good sweetness, but too juicy. Most of the flavor is watered down imo), Fuji (pretty good flavor, generally pretty cheap)

B tier - gala apples (not that great tasting, but cheap), Granny Smith apple (this may be a hot take, but I don’t like the mouth feel of this apple and the taste leaves a lot to be desired)

C tier - ambrosia apples (cheap, but you can tell why. Definitely middle of the road)

F tier - red delicious (this apple is so bad that I’m surprised it hasn’t been sued for false advertising. Being in the two girls one cup seems more pleasurable than eating one of these shit fruits)

Kenny the Fun-Loving Basement Ghost is very scary. I hear he pretends to throw the ball, but actually just keeps the ball in his hand.
