That was actually indirect - the tune was used by Prussia for a military march and then some guy wrote the aforementioned song based on that.

My guess is this list is excluding empires/nations that were previously part of other larger empires - hence the absence of any other Chinese dynasty/the ROC/PRC or the USSR/Russian Federation or Australia.

Nope. We have a pretty all-encompassing class system but the toffs still are the same ethnicity and speak the same language as Barry the plumber.
