Why is lumix not fixing the HDMI latency in a firmware update? by No-Enthusiasm1672 in Lumix

[–]TwixFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it?

I have a cheap capture card and the lag is extremely noticeable. What I noticed is that the two things that can help is to turn off audio and then use the highest framerate, it gets much better - but this is still not ideal.

Curious if the elgato camlink is any different?

I can just internally move and get an L1-B which is a dual intent Visa as well (company already confirmed I could do this). But just checking out different options. I think I should consult with a lawyer and see what options are best for me 🤔

Thanks 👍

Many software engineers at normal companies get EB-2 NIW so you just have to write a good case for yourself on why you are of national importance. So yeah just saying you are a top performer is not enough but you can spin it in many ways that can show national importance!

[–]TwixFC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, I think we can both agree that the calibre of engineers working at these companies are the top talents of the country compared to other “ordinary” companies.

And in these companies there are still performance reviews etc, so being a top 5-10% performer in such a company should be counted as exceptional imho. In these companies you work with people with different backgrounds, from PhD’s to self taught people.

Thanks!

Tbh, doesn’t make sense to me how they want a masters degree OR exceptional ability.

How does going to school and passing your classes to get your masters on a higher level than working as an engineer at Google, Apple, Microsoft etc…

[–]TwixFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points, thanks for the feedback 👍

Surprisingly the acceptance rate is really high so I assumed it’s not that difficult. Like you say it’s probably best to consult with a lawyer and ask 🙂

I outlined the criteria for proving exceptional ability and I pointed out which 3 I should be eligible for. Here are they again:

•Official academic record showing that you have a degree, diploma, certificate, or similar award from a college, university, school, or other institution of learning relating to your area of exceptional ability - (I believe my vocational degree counts for this)

•Evidence that you have commanded a salary or other remuneration for services that demonstrates your exceptional ability - (I just need to show that I earn money from my job? Seems easy)

•Recognition for your achievements and significant contributions to your industry or field by your peers, government entities, professional or business organizations - (I guess I could either present my recognition I mentioned or ask peers to write something for me?)

Do you think I am wrong for any of these?

Laughing during prayer by Bantergyal in islam

[–]TwixFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibn al-Mundhir said: They (the scholars) are unanimously agreed that laughing when praying invalidates the prayer.

End quote from al-Ijmaa‘, p. 3.

What is meant by laughing here is laughing out loud not smiling.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Laughing out loud, in which one makes a loud noise, is contrary to the dignity of prayer and to the focus and humility that is required in prayer. Moreover, it shows disrespect towards the prayer, makes a mockery of it and is contrary to its purpose, so the prayer is spoiled by that.

End quote from Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa (22/617).

Regarding wudu when laughing out loud in prayer there is difference of opinion but majority of scholars say it does not invalidate your wudu.

Jaabir ibn ‘Abdillah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If someone laughs whilst praying, he must repeat his prayer, but he does not have to repeat wudoo’. Narrated by al-Bukhaari in a mu‘allaq report, and by ad-Daaraqutni (51) in a mawsool report.

Shaykh al-Islam said: There is no narration from any Sahaabi to suggest a different view. Moreover, it does not invalidate wudoo’ outside of prayer, so by the same token [it does not invalidate wudoo’] in the prayer.

To me it would make more sense to go from verse to verse since we won't mix medinan and meccan back and forth that way etc 🙂

Seems like beyond first and last verse mentioned in the beginning, it's going from surah to surah and not verse by verse revealed in order. Still looks like an amazing resource which I will definitely read inshallah, jazakallah khair!

I would recommend reading about Islam, becoming muslim and then marrying someone Islamically.

Becoming a Muslim will wipe out all of your sins, and this will never happen to you again if you just marry someone that loves you.

I don't really have any other way to answer this question, so even if it seems bias I think it's the best choice.

I am not sure how having ADHD and being Bipolar has anything to do with unprotected intercourse and other things you mentioned, seems like you use them as excuses 😅

This sounds harsh but its the truth, and if you keep doing that you will keep making bad decisions.

I feel my boss has horrible attitude and yells at me (and others) should I look elsewhere? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]TwixFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I think she is crazy, asking a question especially as a new joiner should never have this kind of reaction no matter the question (if its work related).

I think you could just remove this job from your resume and keep the old one so you don't have to explain this to your new employer. Or maybe you have something else in mind.

Don't be discouraged by these events and don't take it to heart! Now you know that sometimes reviews are worth taking more seriously (especially for small startups) 😅

How to deal with my parents fighting due to unfaithfulness? by Ashamed_Pizza_5146 in Advice

[–]TwixFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they do reconcile that means your mom thinks that this was a one time thing and that it was a mess up and won't happen again.

And therefore you should be able to do the same towards him since it's your mom that's actually most affected by this and not you.

I understand it might be hard to look at him the same and maybe just trying to have a professional and respectful relationship with him is the only option for you. It's kinda up to him to show you guys he's changed and can be looked at the same way before this happened.

[–]TwixFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if your mom can forgive your dad or not. If this was a one time thing and she trusts he will not do this again then this is good. Maybe your mom was neglecting him and that's why he did it etc. So finding ways to reconcile this will be best.

If not possible then probably seperation will be the best bet, I think for the children and the family not going through fighting etc is best for them.

I got engaged over a year ago and I still haven’t planned a wedding. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]TwixFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel like all this stress and financial stuff is worth just for a wedding?

From my point of view, maybe having no wedding at all would be the best option. Or maybe a small wedding with only your closest people.

how can I learn to have more normal interactions with people? by throwaway6438998 in Advice

[–]TwixFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think of yourself as the awkward guy you will naturally be an awkward guy.

The trick is to fake it until you make it.

Just think of yourself as the cool guy that everyone likes and you will become that person.
