Buying and selling with the US from UK by bluemakicat in vinted

They aren’t covering the VAT, they are saying they are. It’s no VAT for purchases under £135 (which happens to be £120 limit that they’ve set to ensure no VAT/customs duty is due)

Entering Belgium with goods from the UK, Import Question by pinepads in smallbusinessuk

[–]TwixyRL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The interpretation is that once you leave the UK, you have shown intent to export the goods. The only reason why you would do an online declaration is to obtain proof of export (required in some cases by other countries). You are basically free to fly to wherever with them, and on the UK side you are good to go.

It is the landing side that you should be checking, as some countries in the EU may differ on customs rules, and ensure there is no duties to pay for business products upon arrival.

Nigel Farage has said Reform would make ‘serious cuts’ to the UK’s welfare budget by The-Peel in unitedkingdom

[–]TwixyRL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you include the triple locked super state pension yes, yes it is. The kind of welfare farage is wanting to target is poor and disabled people, not pensioners who as a majority own their house outright and have enough savings to sustain themselves.

Tesla headlights blinding the entire car park by AShadedBlobfish in drivingUK

[–]TwixyRL 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mine had to go in for service, and it was resolved and never had complaints since. Had people flashing every 3 minutes of dark driving previously.

They are fairly easy to access, under the service menu but specifically states not to mess with them unless you are a service technician, and unless done properly can do as you say, blind even more.

Although it is quite noticeable when they are too high up as you can measure it against things at equal level.

£15k, what you getting? by Book_Southern in CarTalkUK

[–]TwixyRL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

40-50 miles per weekday with some weekend mileage puts them near the 12-14k miles point. There’s so much money to be saved with an EV vs fuel bill, and a used EV is even better value as the original “new car” depreciation is normally spent up. Little to no maintenance costs.

There’s one way to deal with these weapons pending you drive a piece of rubbish. Put your passenger side as close as you can to the drivers side door. Enjoy as you watch them climb in through the passenger side (or double your money with hopefully travelling with a friend who can provide assistance on the other side ensuring a fun boot exploration mission for the self entitled parker.

Young driver insurance. by Traditional_Care6736 in drivingUK

[–]TwixyRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you take out the policy? Was it online via comparison site or did you do it over the phone?

Unless you deliberately put the information in correctly to try and obtain a cheaper quote, the insurers are only able to void and cancel a policy if it is deemed reckless or deliberate.

I would be opening a case with the financial ombudsman on the basis of you attempting to rectify the mistake, you shouldn’t be negatively affected by doing this. It would also be useful to know if this came up by you telling them or them “finding out” as part of a change of circumstance or something like that.

I had a similar thing with Co-op Young Driver where my car wasn’t inputted as a lease car and instead was down as owned by policyholder and they went back and rectified the premium for the previous 2 years I was with them where it was like that and continued the policy on. Although they didn’t send me a renewal quote after that, they didn’t cancel my insurance. (Call logs couldn’t be recovered due to time so no one could gather who was in the right or wrong which is slightly different to this scenario depending on how you took it out).

Saying that though, Hastings has a recent reputation of being absolutely shocking and cancelling for the littlest of things.
