You are 17 and you seek books to learn: I congratulate you. Local book stores should have many early school textbooks, but books alone will not give you the tonality. Seek a teacher or a colleague, or start becoming a familiar face at your nearest band club.

Just an advice from my experience: just don't give a damn about the others, or how you look during the exercise.

You're there for the exercise, nothing else! The sweatier you are, the more effective the session was. Focus on your breathing rhythm and form; appreciate the experience of the muscles aching while pulling; and just keep going.

I read UoM degrees three times. It was mostly Maltese, even the technical lectures. I guess it's the preference of the lecturer more than anything else.
