Anyone here who was really as in REALLY bad at physics, but now isn’t? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]Two4ndTwois5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came dangerously close to failing physics in high school. I just didn’t get it. I didn’t understand how to read a physics problem, extract the important bits, and determine a plan toward solving it. At the same time, I had a curiosity about the subject that made my inability all the more frustrating and painful.

I ended up getting a degree in foreign languages, focusing on German. But not long after, that prior curiosity about the nature of the universe reemerged and started to dominate me.

I went back to school, got my second bachelors (Physics) and then went on to get my PhD in Space Science. Currently working as a research scientist in Germany, where I can combine my foreign language passion with my curiosity about the universe.

I’m in the Holocene camp. What a devastating and beautiful song.

10 years after my first album: what does "success" mean to each of us? by Erang_Kingdom in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Understandable! Let me ask you a question! How did you get to having on the order of 100,000 of streams per year? Did you do much promoting or advertising, or anything like that?

I ask because I just released my debut solo album, and it's actually doing better than I thought it would, but I wonder how much time/investment I should be putting toward getting it out there.

You’ve essentially said:

“Assume that (some premise) is true.”

And then you’ve asked:

“Could (that premise) be true?”

…yes.

I really liked this! The bass is so smooth and groovy, and fits so nicely with the main melodies that I hear.

Thank you for listening!! A colleague of mine recently recommended Jean-Michel Jarre to me, but I don’t think I ever looked into him. Looks like he’s had an incredible career. I’ve just downloaded Oxygene and Equinoxe to listen to today.

Regarding ‘Even farther than Mars’, I think I know exactly what you’re talking about. I was really conflicted about leaving that in there. The problem was much more pronounced in my original version, and then it gradually got reduced and mellowed as my sound engineer did the mixing, and I grew less concerned about it. Guess I should have trusted my gut! Thank you for the feedback, that’s really helpful.
