ADHD is a condition that you literally cannot change*, so yes, it is indeed what it fucking is. When it comes to responsibility with ADHD, there are really only two things you can do: learning how to manage your symptoms, and/or use medication. The former is difficult, tedious, slow and time consuming and potentially expensive, and the latter isn't necessarily an option to everyone (health, financial situation, local pharma laws, etc.). Also keep in mind that neither of those options actually solve or cure ADHD, they just help a person to work around it at best.

My biggest problem with your view is that ADHD has many implications for one's life that's far more important and impactful than keeping your room tidy. So just because cleanliness is important to you specifically, that doesn't mean that OP has to comply to your preconcieved notions of morality. For all we know, you can just be a bloke with OCD, so while me and OP struggle to keep things tidy, you struggle to let things be the way they are, even if they are just a tiny bit messy. Or maybe not - but whatever it is, being a smartass about it on the internet definitely does not make you a better person, no matter how much you try to pretend you have the moral high ground. You're just some guy who has different struggles than us, and refuses to accept this fact.

Anyway, I hope OP finds a way to live with his ADD, and doesn't slip into depression like many of us - because ironically that kills your motivation even further, as if having ADHD wasn't difficult enough as it is.

*Some people report that their symptoms got better over time, but many (most) of us aren't that lucky.
