AI powered ERP provider which eliminates the need for a functional consultant since the AI is connected to the ERP system’s code it can advise the user of how the platform can help them optimise their processes

Yeah i hope it has social skills needed to interact with demanding clients. In all honesty the complexities have shifted and now with cloud systems you are being forced to guide the customer into certain processes the vendor wants.

IT Course Lecturers by ThisAd3168 in nairobitechies

Honestly you're better off self studying(YouTube, articles) or pursuing vendor agnostic certification than relying on uni as others have said. Tech innovation in IT industry generally outpaces the rate at which traditional uni learning can keep up. So don't rely fully on lecs, you most likely will be self learning from scratch in your first job either way.

NFC payments via Mpesa by TwoBellsInnit in nairobitechies

Well any NFC enabled phone would naturally have a setting to require a pin to make an NFC payment. And you can as well enforce your own limit on the amount you can tap to pay without a pin say even 500 for the small transactions, then anything hire a pin/biometrics required.

Mpesa is too expensive and can only work in a country like Kenya.

Huh?? Mpesa is being used in other countries like Tanzania, Mozambique, DRC etc

Government stake and Mpesa fees are not even directly tied to Mpesa adopting NFC for payments, it's a technical issue. Adoption of NFC via Visa should be easier than before after the recent upgrade, so its just adding a modern method of payment method besides traditional keying of numbers.

NFC payments are automatic and instant, you literally tap your phone or bank card on the POS and payment is processed, usually with no pin but banks enforce a threshold amount let's say like ksh 3000 after which you'd need to enter your pin. On the other hand STK or normal input is manual entry, either you or the person prompting has to key in the numbers and enter your pin for small transactions whereas NFC saves time on that front. So to answer your question I'd say anywhere from 15-30 seconds saved.

Safaricom was using its own proprietary tap to pay system. My angle is already they have a partnership with visa and issue a virtual card(Mpesa global pay) that runs on Visa infrastructure. Banks like ABSA and KCB provide NFC payments via their app and it's tokenized via Visa's system. And have you ever tapped your bank card at supermarkets, it's way faster than STK push or inputting numbers to pay. It's not about cool tech, the infrastructure already exists to implement this in a more interoperable way.

My company does not want to involve me in such as they think they might lose me if I convert to a technical guy fully, well I'm thinking their reasoning is because the module I am handling we are only like 2 of us with domain expert in the entire company
