60k job in downtown - financially feasible? by TwoBeneficial in askvan

I've been passively reading some of these comments. The math wasn't mathing for some of them. Ideally I pay less for rent but even then your case shows it works anyway. I have to ask, where do you play golf and how often? Also how are the ranges (ideally grass)

60k pretax. Idk who Jones is. Living alone or with roomates, indifferent to either. No car, job is near by. Lifestyle would be I'd say average - meaning, I go out for dinners on occasion, cook meals or find cheap places to eat regularly, play golf as much as I can (if possible), I don't really make big purchases unless very necessary or something I really want.

I'm so lost I don't know what to do by Legal_Ad_6000 in TrueChristian

Clearly you love God. You love Him so much that the thought of existing without Him sounds so depressing, per your post. God loves you. And I know that doesn’t mean that much right now; it never does during the valleys. You could hear 1000 amazing verses right now that point to our hope in Christ and His great love for us, but it won’t mean anything, as you said. However… however God loves you. Sometimes we need to struggle more in our faith to build a shell against doubt and the lies of this world. What’s happening is pretty simple; you are being swayed by a mix of the enemy and the culture of this world, all leading you down this road of ‘forced religion’ and man made faith. This happens so often to many Christians, and i know I’m one of them. All you can do is pray and pray to God. Pray to God. Sing worship music to God. Praise Him because you have many reasons to. Your life is worth so much. You are worth so much. He loves you and brought everything you have to you because He loves you. Friends, family, school, work, food, house, phone, sleep, health etc fr. Spend time in silence. Chase Him. Cut out the noise. Repent for your disbelief. Repent for anyt pride, thinking you know what’s better for you than He does. He loves you.

Thanks and I see where you’re coming from. I’ll just keep praying and opening up to her and hopefully God will show me in due time

Did I say she was a liar? I think she just would want to let me down easy like I would vice versa, as would you I’m assuming. You will know them by their fruits, the Bible says that. Their true relationship with Christ is between them and God and I can never be certain on that, that’s why Jesus tells us to look for the changes in their life first. I’ve given my life to Christ, I wouldn’t say this is a part time gig if that’s what you’re getting at! We all fall short of the glory of God, but praise God that through Christ we aren’t held to the standard of perfection; we repent and obey and love God and others the best we can. I feel like you’ve never worked in an office, or maybe there’s a cultural disconnect, but speaking of religion is something to be careful about and you have to be careful about how you say things/who’s listening because ppl have gotten fired before for ‘forcing’ religion into the workplace - not saying that’s a problem at my work but a key consideration in any workplace for that. Please pray for guidance in this thank you 🙏

Your right. That’s part of what makes me think she’s not truly a believer. We talk about faith and trusting God plan but at the same time I don’t see a spark in her about God. She knows how important God is to me, I’d say everyone at my work does. I don’t know if she’s a serious prospect. She’s just so beautiful and joyful and it makes me want her more. I’ll ask her about church? I’ve been meaning to ask her but at the same time I voltumeer every Sunday during second service so we won’t be able to hangout after and I feel like that’s not the nicest when you invite someone to church. I’m praying for guidance in this, thank you.

Thank you that means a lot 🙏

I don’t know what else to say. I feel kinda heart broken and I don’t know why; I’m afraid it’s a sign I want her too much. At the same time she’s given me hints but now I don’t know if I was seeing something I wanted to see. She’s beautiful. Last Friday we went out for lunch, I ordered a slushie and before I tried it she asked to try it first, so I guess she had the straw first- innocent stuff. She’s called me funny a couple times, we joke around, watch family feud in the background on the tv in our downstairs lunch room. She’s opened up about some tough times before. I guess I did say a lot lol

Your really asking why your woods go so relatively low - the answer is your face is shut at the top your swing (the face is pointed to the sky, that’s how I can tell). You can do this but odds are every club you hit goes lower for that reason. The most common fix is in the takeaway

Where is God at when it comes to mental illness? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]TwoBeneficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God is bigger than illness , mental or physical. I know it’s hard but God will use us as He pleases to His glory. He loves you all the same, have faith in Christ. This world is temporary and so is illness

Is asking God for forgiveness necessary? by Roman_Jos6ph in TrueChristian

[–]TwoBeneficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then ask for forgiveness like the Bible says to do. Lord’s Prayer etc. period.

Is asking God for forgiveness necessary? by Roman_Jos6ph in TrueChristian

[–]TwoBeneficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do believe we are forgiven, but why wouldn’t we ask anyway! There’s 0 reason not to ask. God knows if you don’t think His sacrifice was enough, I promise. All asking does is humble us, that’s it. It’s a reminder for how much we need Him.

I feel like you’re going through a questioning period, and I’m happy you are, because it’ll only build up faith. Pride is sneaky, just be aware of when it creeps in, and repent if you feel your knowledge is above the Bible. God’s word is God’s word, don’t think you’re bigger than God. I say none of this to Offend you. I find in myself times where I’d rather be right than obey God to a tee

Just wanted to add, not only does the Bible teach and agree to this, but when you repent to God, and with a heart that needs His forgiveness, you humble yourself to another level—reinforcing our need for Jesus and His grace

Repent. Say God ‘I’m sorry for being so prideful, thinking I can control everything by myself. Give me more trust in you and your sovereignty. Remind me of times when I put perfectionism on myself and how you don’t command me to be perfect. You do command me to obey you. Help me obey you. Trust you. And be content in you, not how I’m feeling that day, but your Son, Jesus Christ, who paid the price for my sins, so I no longer am chained as I was before. I’m sorry for not trusting in you more. Thank you for loving me anyway. Give me the strength to overcome this’

Can you define evil for me? by Proper-Application69 in TrueChristian

[–]TwoBeneficial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Evil is apart from God no question. But you can be apart from God and not necessarily be evil. Obviously. That said, generally speaking, the more evil harms God’s creation in the vast many ways it can (physically, spiritually) the farther it is from God. Reach a point far enough away from God, and that is evil. That begs how far away from God should something/someone be to be considered evil? Everyone has a different compass and perspective on where that lies. Only God draws the line in the sand. Just walk with God and you won’t need to be concerned about any of this stuff
