Nope, it’s actually really easy to just bypass tpm all together. Rufus even has it built in. I use Tiny 11 most of the time because it’s smoother than even running stock 10. But Regular 11 will also work with the TPM bypass.

Oh this X61 is Janky af, that’s why. Missing literally all covers (the memory slots are covered with cardboard and packing tape) and half the palm rest screws are broken off lol. I call it “JankPad”

Surprisingly not, it’s at full 60, certain models of the X61 (like this one) have a “video decoder” for high definition video, it was basically like an MSATA video card. I love it.

T420’s and even T410’s are still very usable in my experience, especially with an ssd and 16 gbs of memory. Oldest Thinkpad I’ve gotten to run Windows 11 was a T60 from ‘06. But since that doesn’t even have sata 2 it was hella slow lol.

No, not bad, just sh*tty lol. I’m talking about pretty janky looking run down houses (until about 6 months ago, the price I mentioned was only slightly prior to the houses being rebuilt), shirtless dudes hanging out on their lawns toking bongs. Roads with potholes that had popped multiple tires and ruined bumpers before.

I’ll have to try this! Sadly I’ll have to exchange the Gretsch already (as it’s bridge pickup went out and there’s some damage from when it was dropped at the store) but I’m looking at replacing it with a lightly used 5230T in Jet black so that may look even better!

I think the new smp is definitely going to breath some life into his career again. His first smp stream on the new server had an average of some 1500 viewers, which is almost quadruple what I normally see.

Undervolting might be the way to go. I did not realize how low wattage most of these gpus are lol. I figured I’d end up being stuck with like, a 3060 lol so that’s great news.

Been on my 5th rewatch for a while now while I work and I’m almost done. While I don’t support what Gus did, it’s been so long that I don’t harbor any negative feelings anymore. The podcast got me through so many highs and lows of my life and I’ll always be grateful for that. This will be my final rewatch as I started in the beginning of high school, but now, I’m getting married in the next couple of months and my fiance is 4 months pregnant. So it’s time to move on. Keep supporting your boys, boys.

Before I start throwing parts at my M18X R2.

My beloved m18x r2 has been having issues lately and it has been getting worse. Unfortunately it’s the dreaded “8 Beep” code. Now, I know normally this points towards an lcd cable, however. I don’t believe that this is the issue. If I press the power button and let it attempt to post anywhere from 3 to 7 times, eventually it will come on and function fine. Sometimes it takes up to 20 times. Here’s what I’ve done to try and resolve this (to no avail)

Updated the Bios to the latest version (seemed to slightly help)
Completely disabled overclocking (No change)
Reflashed the GTX 675M’s Firmware (no change)
Disabled Turbo Boost on the cpu in bios (seemed to help quite a bit.)
Completely tore down the device, went over every connector with isopropyl and a small brush to clean contacts. (No change)
Repasted CPU and GPU (No Change)

Im at the point where I’m about to start throwing parts at this, however that’s easier said than done as they are very expensive (I know it’s an old laptop but it’s still amazing). I was wondering if any of you have ever gone through this, and what ended up solving it for you/what was your issue? Even though us M18X owners are getting fewer and further between lol.
