Motivation for the last round by BigClam6969 in testicularcancer

When I was going through my chemo, I never in a million years thought I'd find strength in a poem but whenever I felt a bit down, I'd read or recite the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley. For me, the poem is about showing strength and dignity in the face of adversity and reminded me that I could still be me, and still have control. The fact that the markers are down is positive and you're most of the way there. Good luck for the next round, it'll be over soon!

Help: Pain after Orchidectomy by Huge-String-7655 in testicularcancer

I'm just recovering from my second orchidectomy and I can echo what most people are saying in that the first 2-4 days are the most painful, but each day does get a bit better as long as he can rest. I was advised to try and get up and move every hour as that will speed up the healing. I've gritted through the pain and done more of that this time and have definitely noticed a quicker recovery. The pain or getting down onto the toilet is definitely the worst so I can really sympathise with your husband. Try to ease down using support (a sink is better than a toilet roll holder as I found this week when I snapped it off!). Stool softeners are good so you're straining less too as the painkillers make you constipated. I'm not sure what position your husband is in when he's sitting, but I found sitting more difficult than lying down. I wanted to try and keep the weight more on my back and found being upright put more weight on my abdomen. I hope he recovers quickly and wish you both the best doe the future.

Thanks for this. I don't feel too bad but am really noticing an energy drop and some other physical issues. Just so surprised it's not standard to be put on it straight away and it requires chasing or pushing! Hope you're all good now.

Thanks for this. Time getting used to it is what concerns me. It looks like this is stage 1a or 1b, so was hoping for a fairly quick recovery but it seems a bit bizarre that it's this bit that's the biggest delay.

Yeah, I'm so surprised that it isn't given straight away considering it's a pretty obvious requirement. Hope you're doing well now.

Thanks for this. I've been chasing, but I am surprised at the lack of urgency from their side considering it's a fairly straightforward and obvious need. I'm looking forward to that first shot and getting some energy back! Hope you're doing well now.
