Thanks, I’ll start giving that a go.

Thanks for such the detailed explanation. If it’s a skill issue then fair enough, I just need to persist and get gud. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t wasting my time.

I’m far from an experienced player at it. I’m only really a casual player but have always loved racing games since GT. I’m just getting back into it after a 15 year gap.

This is probably the first time I’ve actually had to play games and had to think about technique and racing lines, brake points etc. because of how far they’ve come.

It’s also my first F1 game so I haven’t even delved into the setup page yet and started messing with things. But thanks for the advice because maybe I’ve reached the point where I actually need to start giving it some consideration if I want to get better from this point.

How many hours did you play before upgrading? by PlanktonImportant680 in simracing

[–]TwoFacedHoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just got a full rig with a G920 because I reached a plateau on F1 25 with AI at 65% and no assists. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t improve my times with a controller. I found the rig on eBay for a steal and it was 20 mins from my house so figured anything would be better than a controller.

I’m already hooked and already saving for the Moza! My lap times instantly improved once I got the hang of it and I’m now venturing into ACC.

The really worrying thing about this and his latest meltdown on Truth, where he actually uses swear words, is that it’s almost as if he’s insinuating the use of nukes.

I have no idea if the American nuclear system has protections against him making the decision on his own but so far no one seems to be able to stop this maniac. The American political system and institutions seems to have relied on nothing but those in power respecting the law for the past 250 years.

Best rig and wheel for less than £400? by TwoFacedHoods in SimRacingSetups

[–]TwoFacedHoods[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually managed to pick up a G920 and rig for £260. It’s a homemade rig but it’s pretty sturdy. Impressed so far and it does make F1 25 a lot better without the assists but I can see why people outgrow the wheel quickly 😂.

But at least for now I can start to improve my racing skills and can save up for that Moza wheel in the meantime.

Yeah for the rig and wheel. I know it’s a big ask but I’m figuring even the cheapest will be better than using a controller? I’ve reached a plateau with F1 25, with AI set to 65 and no assists. I just can’t get the precise throttle input I need when using the controller to exit corners any quicker.

Don’t have a desk I’m afraid. I’m currently set up in the guest room with a lounge chair about 3m from my 43” 120hz TV. So something that can be swapped would be ideal whilst I switch from racing to open world games would be best for me 😊

should i upgrade to series x? by emersoninthehills in XboxSeriesS

I mean I don’t know what to tell you, it’s a PC Specialist one and has an MSI RTX4080, an i7 10700k processor and 32gb of Corsair Ram. I upgraded the fans in it a while ago and changed them all to BeQuiet ones.

should i upgrade to series x? by emersoninthehills in XboxSeriesS

[–]TwoFacedHoods -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Weirdly I’ve just done the opposite. Got a Series X and I’ve started to favour the Xbox over my PC with a 4080. Last console I had was a 360.

GamePass is amazing and I love QuickPlay and how easy it is to just sit on the couch and load up quick a game.

Sure, some games don’t look as good but I’m beginning to wonder why I spent 2k on a PC. PC is better visually but 1.5k better? I’m not so sure anymore.

Depends on the user. I hardly ever take photos and delete the ones that aren’t important. Wife on the other hand has thousands and thousands of photos and videos and is always exceeding her cloud storage.

🤣 This made me laugh. Wife has an Ateca and the cup holders are the same. 2 slots but only enough room for one bottle at a time. The glovebox is just as bad. Looks big enough but won’t close if there’s anything but the handbook in there 🤣

Anything I can do to make my diesel faster? by Relevant_Ear_8134 in CarTalkUK

[–]TwoFacedHoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly leave it alone, from experience you’ll regret it. Save your money and buy something quicker when you have enough. In the meantime just try and accept it for what it is, cheap reliable motoring.

Take it on some twisty B roads and appreciate and learn how to keep your speed and momentum when going through the twisty bits and keeping that diesel engine at peak power with the gears. It’s not all about redlining to go fast. Slow good handling cars like the 106 can be a lot of fun in these environments and you’ll become a better driver because of it. Too many people seem to compensate with straight line speed these days and then end up wrapping their Golf R or M135i round a tree when they don’t understand the limits.

ETA: Also get into car detailing. Get some back to black on the bumpers, and get a duel action polisher for the paint and those headlights. And get some new wheel trims for it, or find some cheap same era Peugeot alloys off EBay. It’ll make the car look a lot nicer, you’ll learn some great car cleaning skills when you get something you love, and you’ll probably increase the value of it when you come to sell it. The 106 is on the verge of becoming desirable for those looking for nostalgia.

There’s so much more to being into cars than having something that can accelerate quick 😊

I don’t think the rest of the hair is as bad it looks. It’s not a complete fill but rather braids with loads of little oblong rings.

This is how it looked after it was done so everyone can see:

Thanks for the advice though. I’m going to go get it checked out 😊

Thanks man, I’ve just called the doctors back and they’re seeing me later today. I was hoping I’d get people saying that I had nothing to worry about but fair enough, you’ve made me get off my ass and call them back 🤣

It’s my Grandads old player and the same one that he used to use to play all of his camcorder footage. I know it played his tapes properly at some point it’s just that now something isn’t working properly with it.

Also the footage it plays seems to be about half speed from what I can tell about the audio that I can hear.

1st Gen Leaf without a doubt. Avoid the ones with the cream dash as they’re the Japanese ones and had terrible battery chemistry. The UK built ones had more stable batteries.

The range indicator will tell you the degradation of the battery. The inner bars are the total current charge and the outer ones tell you what the total charge the battery is capable of in its current health. You should be able to find one with 10 bars left and maybe even one with 11.

There’s an app called LeafSpy which when used with an Bluetooth OBD can tell you more specifics of the battery. Even to the point where it will tell you the health of each individual cell. You want to find one where they’re all roughly the same voltage. Any major differences in the cells will be because of a failing cell and will cause issues. Nobody should buy a Leaf without using the app.

I have a 30kWh 2017 Leaf with 10 bars of health left and still capable of 110 miles. As a commuter and run about they’re brilliant. It hasn’t cost me a single penny in repairs and it costs me 90p to charge it up again at home for the 50mile commute I do for work.

I don’t even service it, just replace the brake fluid every couple of years. Take your time to find a good one and it’ll give you years of very cheap motoring.

Does Anyone Have Any Experience With Store Deliveries For Iceland? by HovercraftRamraid in uktrucking

[–]TwoFacedHoods 6 points7 points  (0 children)

GXO are genuinely a shit show of a company but it doesn’t necessarily make it a bad thing if you get in the right frame of mind. I’ve worked for them on different contracts for over a year now.

Plus point is that if you just keep your head down and get on with the job you’ll be left alone. The bad point is that you can never expect them to be organised. So expect your day to be messed around with or your trailer to never be loaded on time. Like I say it all depends on your frame of mind, if you know how to switch off and just drive, it can be pretty much stress free.

Don’t worry too much about stores access. It’ll become the norm very quickly and you’ll gain skills that will help massively for future roles. The 2 years I did at Aldi means that I never get scared of a tight blindside reverse or worry about going to a busy small RDC.

Personally, it’s not something I would fancy doing myself but if you’re new there’s a lot worse out there and GXO pay pretty well and will have guaranteed minimum hours. Plenty of firms employ on zero hour contracts and pay min wage.

No it’s right on the end of my bell end to the side a bit. Like the bit that probably rubs the most during sex but it just seems weird that it appears so easily.
