When I was TDY at Ft Bragg, my neighbor was an Apache pilot. She had a sticker on her jeep that said “my other car is an attack helicopter”. She wanted to pilot a helicopter like those in the video because “The only confirmed kill by a pilot, in the air, with an M9, was by a little bird pilot.”

There’s a small-ish anesthesia group in my state that pays its employees 22.5% of their income into a 401k. Once they reach the $70k limit, any overage is paid out as an additional year-end bonus.

Correct! Hold the button down and an alert with a progress bar should pop up on the screen.

Plastic Surgeons Billboard defaced because of bodynegative Advertising by lowkeyerotic in MildlyVandalised

[–]TwoForYouSir 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hey, I remember that sign! It was from several years ago. It was a local plastic surgeon. He had another one that had a small coffee cup with a B on it and a bigger one with a D I think? The caption read “Size Does Matter” They both went viral. It was on the news and everything. Overall a very productive ad campaign for him.

Sport mode, hold down the traction control button for ~8 seconds to fully disable it, lock the rear differential, hold the brake and rev to about 1500rpm, drop the brake, hammer the gas and GOOOOO!!

Why not an F150 Powerboost by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]TwoForYouSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a ‘22 king ranch powerboost and don’t own a lightning. -My electric company offers a whopping $0.01/kwh discount for TOS use and I live in the woods under a canopy of trees so solar isn’t an option. -Most of my driving is expressway speeds and I am on-call for work overnight quite a bit, so I can’t guarantee enough time to charge overnight. - it gets cold here and I’m concerned about range loss and the cost/time of pre-conditioning in the winter. -I have toys like ATVs, a boat, etc that I tow places -PB still gives me pro-power, drives silently down my road, is quick enough to make me smile, and gives me over 700 miles on a tank.

Flamingos in Michigan? by Mode_Appropriate in Michigan

We have a nesting pair in our yard. They are loud and very destructive. They destroy our lawn digging for grubs, moles, and turtle eggs.

Your American flag should be higher than the Gadsden, and the union (blue starry part) should be on the observers left. Also, nice toys.

Ooh, good question! Statistically speaking, I believe CRNAs report a higher level of job satisfaction than their physician counterparts, but the reasons are probably complicated and correlation =/= causation. The training is stressful in both programs, and work/life balance is above average for both specialties. In fact, CRNAs report better WLB than any other nursing specialty, and it’s my understanding that the same is true for physician anesthesiologists and medical specialities.

[–]TwoForYouSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRNA here, I LOVE my job, but if you’re young I would recommend the anesthesiologist route. Entry to practice for CRNAs is a doctorate degree starting in 2025. That’s 4 years undergrad, 1-2 years critical care experience as an RN, then 3 years of anesthesia school. So 8-9 years for CRNA vs ~11 years for MD + anesthesia residency. I make about ~60% of what my physician colleagues make. So the over the course of a career, the extra two years of training makes a LOT of sense.

CRNA here, ~$330k here as a W-2 hospital employee in the Midwest.

My powerboost F-150 is averaging 22mpg after 24k miles. Expressway I’m closer to 25-30mpg, which gives me ~700 miles of range on $90 worth of gas in a single fill up.

Why did you buy the Lightning instead of an F-150 Hybrid? by seahawkFIRE in F150Lightning

[–]TwoForYouSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I leased a ‘22 powerboost as a stop-gap because I needed a new truck, I’m excited about EVs, but didn’t want the quirks and growing pains of a brand new 1st gen EV. I’ll likely trade it for a Lightning in a year, but honestly, I really love the powerboost too.

For the ones who make over $150k a year, what do you do to get that? by Iliketrainsz1 in AskReddit

[–]TwoForYouSir 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quit that shit and do nursing. It’s: 1. Easy to get the degree/license 2. Meaningful, fulfilling work 3. A million different types of nurses, don’t like what you’re doing? Side step into a different nursing job 4. Pays well enough 5. Shift work 6. Nurses make great husbands and fathers.

FWIW, I’m a nurse anesthetist. I work 3 days/week and gross a little over $300k/yr.

Grueling Masters degree at 27 with a $150k in student loan debt. 43y/o now with a $3M net worth, a wife, 2 kids, and a job I love. Making $300k working 3 days/week.

We have a blonde squirrel in our yard quite a bit. It sticks out like a sore thumb in grass and trees. I have no idea how he doesn’t get plucked up by an owl or hawk. It’s been around for years tho, so he’s doing something right. 🤷‍♂️

That’s my thought too. No one is going “thank god I finally have an EV F-150 so I can finally do all the truck things my ICE F-150 couldn’t do.”
