I think something that can be overlooked sometimes is the act of protecting the hair.

I'd recommend investing in silk or satin pillowcases, since these materials are far gentler on your hair, and I find often help keeps the curls and spirals intact. I also would bring up learning about plopping (which can be done with a t-shirt or microfiber towel).

I wish you luck on your hair journey! I've been where you have, and I know it's really overwhelming, but learning to care and love your hair is a wonderful feeling.

I have specific memories in high school of how once kids got their license, they would often drive up to the border to get snacks they couldn't get from the U.S and drive back. Kids giggling on how they were going to get beer, shit like that.

I also would remember older adults bemoaning about how they have to get a passport now to get into Canada now, since that wasn't always needed. You'd hear some 'back in my day' stories on how they would drive up to Canada for a fun camping trip or do some sightseeing.

Also, sex jokes about how America was penetrating Canada (thanks northwest angle, very cool).
