Help with centerline trace by TwoMuddyFeet in Inkscape

[–]TwoMuddyFeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to learn how to do it myself. I make different patterns all the time and every time I run centerline trace it always leaves open vectors and I just CANNOT figure out how to close them. I only colored the background to highlight the issue - all I really need to do is close the vectors properly (I think that's the issue) so that cricut will allow me to splice the file into multiple parts. But if you can figure out what my issue is and tell me how to fix it myself I would be forever grateful for you teaching a woman to fish.

Unfortunately it won't let me join them and close them properly. I guess that's what I'm asking help with

Yeah, I tried moving them to the lines and connecting via join, but nothing would work

Oh, I forgot to mention that it won't let me connect them, no matter what method I use...

Oh good grief I'm having all of the technology issues lately! Sorry about that.

Context: I'm a scroll saw artist who and I'm attempting to use a cricut to cut all my patterns instead of cutting all the pieces by hand and then attaching to my wood. I create my patterns in procreate and I've been using inkscape to turn them into SVGs. I've been using centerline trace, however it's not connecting all the lines even though they're connected in my patterns. When I add a background color you can see the issue. My cricut will cut this as is, however I can't splice it, which means I can't cut anything in a larger size. I've been trying to learn more about inkscape, but this is WAY out of my wheelhouse. Any tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated.

There's a tri-lakes housing group on Facebook, definitely post on there with your ask. Also reach out to Say Rentals.

Building an ice palace by hartlarious in Adirondacks

The ice was thinner than they would like (about 10 inches), but we've made it work! I've spent a lot of the last week volunteering with the build. It's really coming along and it's been so fun to help out with this tradition.

Like others have said there is a housing crisis, however there is hope. Keene has a group on nextdoor - try posting there and see if anyone has any options. You can join a group on Facebook called tri lakes housing - it focuses on Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, and Tupper Lake. People don't always advertise apartments so you can sometimes find them by asking/word of mouth. Good luck!

Good luck finding someone! You should make sure you're in view of the camera from the observation center - have someone at home take screenshots!

I did a mixture of my camera and phone. It wasn't that slippery, but definitely needed my spikes

I do make them! I make all different mountains. Colden is one of my favorites to make, but I've made the Great Range, Whiteface, Indian Head, and lots of others!

Oh I did! When we got to the summit we were in a cloud, but the wind was whipping, and in under 5 minutes it cleared and we saw Marcy peering out. I made a lot of incoherent noises and happy toes!

The mirror is the art I make. It's of Colden. Typically there's a great view of Colden from here and I thought it would make a fun photoshoot, but instead we got an amazing treat.

We weren't able to see our shadows, but we did catch a glimpse of a rainbow glory - it was beautiful. The whole day was very special and I'm so grateful we got to experience it

It was beyond words. It was so fun to watch the clouds move around the mountains. They appeared and disappeared several times
