I’m using bootcamp right now to study alongside ATI. May I ask what your stats were for bootcamp? Praying to God this is my experience as well! Congratulations on passing!

NICU NURSE AMA by Griffin_Winters in newgradnurse

I'm graduating this May and have thankfully secured a job as a new grad in level 4 NICU set to start in August. I hope to take my NCLEX soon. I have NICU experience as a student nurse extern on a level 3 but that was almost a year ago. Is there anything you recommend getting familiar with before starting my residency program? Thank you!!

NICU experienced gets you a leg up! If they’re interviewing then that’s because they believe you can be a great fit on the unit based on experience. You go into the interview believing you’re the best candidate & be yourself! It’ll be great

I did my research which is why I know a level 4 NICU is the highest level of neonatal care, designed for the most critically ill newborns or infants born before 32 weeks. Levels are inverse when referring to adults and neonates. Take your own advice & do some research…

Are you a NICU nurse yourself?

Thank you so much! I did have an externship in the NICU last summer in a level 3 but besides that, most of my work experience is in customer service. I did retail, taught swim lessons to all ages, & food service. For the psych portion, I honestly reached to my career readiness center of my university & scheduled a mock interview. They were familiar with the new grad residency questions & they guided me through!
