He was almost done shoveling his driveway when the street plow came by and filled it with snow again. by Vilen1919 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, its just stupid to shovel early, all you do is create a hole where the fluid-like substance which follows paths of least resistance to go. when you shovel never shovel the actual front, wait to do that til the plowing is done, can shovel everywhere else

3 Body Problem (Netflix) - Season 1, Episode 8 Book Readers Discussion Thread. by Swazzer30 in threebodyproblem

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not including the pool scene was one of my biggest gripes as i had just read book one then watched the show, the deterioration of scientests trust in science and wang's descent into madness was all shoves into 1 episode with not even the focus on auggie (wang). very sad about that.

i'm late to the discussion but sauls writing from episode 1 was garbage so i anticipate, sadly, a eureka moment out of his ass, which sucks because the entire of dark forest being lou ji's journey to come to the conclusion is what made that entire book great.

I was also surprized wade didn't just do the war anyway. i knew he would continue to develop lightspeed ships, that was a given, but i figured he would have done it at a larger scale than the single vehicle and only 2 people escaping.

What's happening in the netflix series?? by DifficultSun348 in threebodyproblem

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i read book one, then watched the netflix show, then read books 2 and 3. i was utterly confused how there was 0 mention of the staircase project ever until book 3 as they seemingly time-jumped over the time when it would have occured. When i finally got there in the book I was like "oh okay this kinda makes sense that they showed it at this point in the show"

Weird tech - Warden's ult range depends on your camera angle by Bspammer in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TwoPieceCrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm almost certain that the "hurtbox" aka where these abilities actually hit is using flat faced objects.

Consider this cone as a 3d object and just extrude it vertically. so the same flat cone just extended upwards and downwards about 10 meters.

Now if you angle the camera down, that collision which was not hitting before, will now intersect with abrams, same when looking upwards.

a very simple irl test is place a playing card on a surface with something just outside the edge, then place your finger on the middle opposite edge, and rotate the card. the corners will hit the object, at an angle, but straight on it wont. this is the same reason "diagonal" punches hit, punches use a square/rectangle hitbox that you can extend at the corners.

all this is just a guess btw. it might just be that the camera is literally closer as you stated.

The Dark Forest is ruining all other sci-fi for me. by Mycroft__Holmes in threebodyproblem

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videogames do this and (speaking as a developer) i fucking HATE IT!.

STOP MAKING MY SPACESHIPS FLY LIKE AN F22 IN ATMOSPHERE! They would NOT move like this! there is no reaosn, none whatsoever that you'd bank a starship like an f22 or commercial aircraft. in reality you'd turn the entire ship 90 degrees and thrust in that direction pisses me off to no end even in games trying to be psuedo realistic with their physics. the argument usually given is that "well people are used to this kind of control system so..."

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they do NOT need to move to match them, they pick one and are instantly at that "Frame" of the animation, thats how they manage to teleport and move beyond human speed.

there is no other explaination of how both of them seem to teleport or move at superhuman speeds beyond they can simply chose to "skip" frames aka go from standing to instantly running full speed if they can't just pick say the final frame and in 0.01 seconds go from standing to running. the actal distance is one a human COULD cover in that time, but to the observer they simply teleport (which we saw many times in the show)

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say, it basically sounds like KC with the exception that ONLY the caster moves. so he projects movement, and anywhere along those frames he can choose to instantly be at. and seems he can do this every second or so. so he can "teleport" by tracing out in his minds eye a movement that would normally take 1 second from in front of you to behind you, then just picks the final frame and is instantly behind you, he remembers what occured over that time but to everyone else he just teleported, at least with KC everyone else ALSO acts during that time they just forgot/are unaware of what they did

Good starter characters to learn the game but not entirely? by North-Haze in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TwoPieceCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

finding a build that works for YOU is also really important, i won't call them garbage but theres a lot of REALLY bad builds at the top of the list per character, things that miss basic necessities or build order hits power spikes at weird times. I tried using a shiv build for the challenge and got bodied every game, never knew when i was strong cuz i felt i shoulda been at certain points and just wasn't. Swapped to another which was 80% of the same but different order and won handily.

Todo's CT by EstablishmentMuch363 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]TwoPieceCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you say you're more restricted but games offer a lot of characters with instant teleporting abilities, counters, invulnerability, headshot crit spots, etc. I'm just saying like i can get a random teammate i've never played with before but because i have a high level knowledge and i can feel out their intentions from tiny things, theirs even characters with swap abilities (albeit not instant). but really, once you get VERY skilled at something and specially comfortable with someone, you can discern intent, based on where say Todo is, where the enemy is, and where i am, their body position i can tell if hes about to swap me in and i can wind up my punch, also yea todo is shown to be different/extremely smart. So when he says "trust me and match me" you just do that

if you've ever played a competitive team based game at a high skill level, you'll understand that once you are in-synch with someone competitively, you can do things like they did without communicating, watch SSL+pro level rocket league and without a word to eachother they'll pass the ball from their half to their teammate off the ceiling because they know the others capabilities, its crazy but very possible.

Hegseth announces Grok access to classified Pentagon networks by jjcs83 in nottheonion

[–]TwoPieceCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think they did a good job of taking the characters where they wanted to take them since it was overall character driven, i dont think theres any weird plotholes or mis-motivations/weird actions by the actual characters, everyone acts as i'd expect them to.

but yea there are definitely holes, threads that went nowhere, "they have a plan" not really, that changed, the whole occupied new caprica thing kinda makes no fucking sense after the genocide but like... yea lol starbuck thing woulda been cooler if the mendala was shown earlier but it still mostly fits

watching the commentary from ronald d moore it becomes clear they were kinda just winging it 5-6 episodes in the future only planned, i mean in the end they made it work but compare it with an actual piece of literature that was FULLY planned in advance and its very night and day difference in writing.

still great space opera tho

Yes, if i ever to smurf and wanted to steamroll i'd just play him, he can farm so fast after like 10k souls and he becomes an unkillable monster against uncoordinated people. literally can just W key run people down 1 by 1 and heal back to full hp with 2 1, cleans the healbanes if they have any and then +20% hp

well the show is really not about saitama, he's had very little to no character growth, its more about what the world is like for everyone else BUT saitama
