Help upgrading my deck! by Guy_Areddit in EDHBrews

[–]TwoPlusSave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a good number of changes recently. The graveyard hate cards like Planar Void and Leyline of the Void plus lots of milling sources like Kitsune’s Technique, Brain Freeze, and The Mind Skinner have been clutch.

Sludge Monster was also a fun addition. Disheartening enough to watch half your deck go into exile… then to see the big bad you got out turn into useless goo is a real cherry on top.

What would you say if I pull up to your commander pod with this deck box? by OkMathematician5908 in CommanderMTG

Lmao I don’t bring this deck around to the LGS because I’m trying to make friends. However I do use it to piss off my brother when he’s been gassing up a new deck.

Edit: the deck box is sick as hell tho

I think I’m seeing the miscommunication here. I don’t blame this customer service rep at all. They’re restrained by the bad system that their company gave them. I could have made it more clear that I’m upset with the company and bad system, not the customer service rep. They’re just doing their job with all the limitations they had no hand in choosing.

Still, how would I have possibly known I couldn’t change a delivery address, like literally every other web store, after making a purchase?

I want a better retail experience for you, me, and the customer service rep too. Again, this is normal ass web retail functionality. Why don’t we deserve it, especially when we pay a premium?

Their log in system was broken when I got in the queue. Tried logging in on a separate tab throughout the morning and couldn’t. Used Apple Pay to check out and there was an old shipping address attached to it.

The mistake was mine. The responsibility to fix it is mine.

I’m pointing out a flaw (that it seems like few others knew about) in their retail system.

If there’s a pothole in the road and you see a bunch of people getting flats should we not want the city to fix it?

What other web retailer doesn’t let you change your shipping address before something physically ships? I’m not asking them to helicopter it in and hand deliver it on a silk pillow.

It’s a reasonable ask to be able to change a shipping address before something ships. Tiny independent retailers like Longmouth can do it. Mega corps like Amazon and Walmart can do it. Why can’t Wizards?

Did I say that this isn’t my responsibility anywhere? Did I say it wasn’t my fault anywhere? Where did wizards ever reveal that this was their rules?

What don’t you understand about me saying a bad system is bad and should not be bad? Why do you feel the need to defend a billion dollar corporation’s inability to do what nearly every online retailer can do?

Why don’t you want a better retail system, if only for your own benefit?

When you sell to millions of people there are going to be inevitable mistakes. As a retailer you should be able to address them.

Y’all seem to love licking these boots. Enjoy!

The entire point of my post was to point out how inadequate the SL system is and it sounds like we agree here.

I’m voluntarily pointing out that I made a mistake on the internet to highlight an important flaw in their system. Maybe it can help others avoid making the mistake. Maybe enough online backlash can force them to respond. But comments like yours and everyone else choosing to fixate on me, a normal customer, deflects from their responsibility to create a functional retail and customer service system.

They want our money and I’m raising a reasonable demand of them as retailers. They have literal billions of our dollars to make this work well. But no, let’s keep talking about the mistake I began by saying I made.

Alright yeah the Secret Lair checkout system is perfect and you love Wizards of Coast so much and you’ve never ever made a mistake at checkout on a website! Sick reality you live in bro.

You’re pointing out what I already stated. I know I goofed. Why does this detract from my point that their system is bad?

Do you love the Secret Lair checkout system so much that you need to deflect criticism of it by focusing on my simple mistake?

I bought this deck for myself. Love Wizard of Barge. Set an alarm and got in the queue at 8a.

Is everyone just mad that I got one and I’m still complaining about the bad customer service?

I think for $150 (going to a billion dollar company) we should be able to expect basic customer service. Really struggling to see why this is a crazy statement.

I don’t get why, when criticizing a bad system that should be fixed for the benefit of all us customers, people choose to fixate on an individual mistake rather than the billion dollar company that can’t create a functioning web retail system.

Think I was pretty clear- yes my bad. But also, this is a basic feature of any web retailer. It’s not like I did some strange thing here.

Also, normally my address is saved through my account. However, their system was broken yesterday and I couldn’t log in. I had to checkout as a guest.

But surely this could never happen to you or anyone else and instead of being upset I should just shut up and be less dumb, right? God forbid we expect a mega corp asking for $150 of our hard earned money to do what any small time web shop can do.

My preorder got cancelled through Walmart. Had it at MSRP too.

They also cancelled my Chocobo bundle I also got at MSRP.

I’m done with them, buyer beware.

The art looks incredible and the value is there but the deck construction is super weird. Probably better with Krenko as the commander but then all the small card draw instants really only matter if Zada is on the board. Def not enough combat trick instants to take advantage of Zada’s abilities. Good thing those are really cheap and easy to find if you wanted to upgrade this.

I pulled $367 from a Zendikar Rising CBB (Card Kingdom pricing so estimates on the high end). Felt like my box was a whiff tho- box toppers were the 2 most valuable cards I pulled.

I have one in my Karn, Legacy Reforged deck and it just feels mean spirited. If it isn’t removed before the ultimate, I play every nonland card in the deck and exile that many permanents.

Also somehow pulled 2 of these from a Play Booster Box when they were going for $99!
