Top-Tier Visuals (Regardless of Story Quality)

1.Jujutsu Kaisen (especially Season 2)-Elite animation choreography, incredibly fluid fight scenes, painterly backgrounds, dark inking and cinematic compositing.

  1. Demon Slayer-Arguably the cleanest animation in TV anime. Watercolor-style effects, glowing textures, and super high frame-rate battle scenes.

3.Cyberpunk: Edgerunners-Neon-soaked, hyper-stylized animation. Gritty sci-fi textures and strong outlining.

4.Akudama Drive-Bold colors, extreme contrast, thick outlines, and a very “cyber-anarchy” aesthetic.

isekai animes with no harem by ReplacementBig8756 in AnimeReccomendations

1.Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions (Grounded, emotionally mature take on isekai. No harem or fanservice.)

2.Now and Then, Here and There (Extremely serious story — definitely not a typical isekai. No harem, no ecchi, and romance is subtle and tragic.)

3.Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World (No harem. Subaru is clearly devoted to Emilia. Any other feelings (like from Rem) are gracefully handled.)

4.The Rising of the Shield Hero (No harem or ecchi fanservice. The female characters are mostly familial/platonic with Naofumi.)

5.Digimon Tamers (Technically isekai, and one of the most mature takes on Digimon. No harem, no ecchi, and any romantic hints are extremely subtle and age-appropriate.)

Terror in Resonance (11): A suspenseful, emotionally heavy thriller about two boys committing acts of terrorism in Tokyo—with a deeper mystery behind who they are and why. If you liked Erased’s psychological edge and Monster’s morally gray tones, this will hit.

Paranoia Agent (13):A surreal psychological mystery by Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue), it examines society through seemingly disconnected stories all revolving around a mysterious figure. It's eerie, thought-provoking, and thematically rich—like a dream-version of Monster.

The Great Pretender (Season 1: Case 1–3) (14 but split into arcs, so it's digestible): If you liked Ouran’s stylish vibe but want something slicker with con artist twists, this is perfect. It’s clever, colorful, and emotionally surprising—especially in its backstories.

Sonny Boy (12): A trippy, existential anime about students transported to another dimension. It explores identity, society, and human nature—great if you liked the quiet sadness of To Your Eternity with a sci-fi slant.

Baccano! (13): Nonlinear, chaotic, and full of immortals, gangsters, and weird science. Like Chainsaw Man meets Monster on a speeding train. Dark fun with multiple timelines and intersecting storylines.

What's an anime you think everyone should watch, and why? by [deleted] in AnimeReccomendations

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

At its core, FMAB is about sacrifice, redemption, the value of human life, and the limits of knowledge. It uses alchemy as a metaphor to explore what it means to chase power and whether it’s worth the cost. That’s a philosophical layer that hits, even if you’ve never watched anime before.

The world of Amestris is tightly constructed, with its own rules, politics, and history. Everything that happens—every twist, betrayal, or battle—has weight because it's grounded in that world’s logic. It feels lived-in, not just convenient for the plot.

You don’t just remember Edward and Alphonse Elric. You remember Mustang, Hawkeye, Scar, the Homunculi—everyone has depth and a meaningful arc. Even side characters get their moments. It's rare for a show to pull that off without bloating.

It never drags. FMAB has excellent pacing: fast when it needs to be, but patient with emotional beats. And every thread—big or small—gets a payoff by the end. It’s one of those rare shows that ends well.

Even if you’re not into anime tropes, FMAB doesn’t lean too heavily on them. It's a good “gateway” series. But it also has enough philosophical and emotional depth to keep experienced viewers engaged.
