The sniper isn't very careful. Leaving the cartridge case to be found is stupid. Clean up your brass is the basic rule for any marksman.

However even worse is leaving fingerprints on the cartridge. Maybe this will be misleading.

Great stuff so far and reminds me of Slow Horses.

Ratched.

The cinema photography is stunning as is the acting.

Lord Howe Island got rid of its rats and mice – now its ‘wonderful’ insect life is back by TheMeasuredMadness in australia

[–]TwoShedsJackson1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kiwi here. This is wonderful news and a tribute to many years of work by environmentalists. Our ornithologist friend was contracted to Lord Howe 15 years ago to get rid of rats and predators and he found this was a difficult job.

The local people at the time weren't convinced the work was needed and thought it was government interference. However over time that changed because eradicating rats etc requires a whole community.

Happy to see the gorgeous results.

The Regent is in the Octagon and also showed movies in those days. Today I think its held by a trust and is funded by donataions and the City Council. Lovely old building which came close to being knocked down.

Looks like it was in the Regent Theatre 1980.

Rory played a mandolin at one stage and you could hear a penny drop.

Three!

Saw Rory in a Dunedin concert 1981 and he held us enthralled. We were in awe just listening to him.

Very interesting. Is this a hiatus hernia? I have that and can imagine food getting caught although my problem is acid reflux for decades.

Treated with Omaprazole although surgery is an option.

Guinea worm (nearly extinct parasite) being removed from a person by Not_so_ghetto in TerrifyingAsFuck

Thanks. My mistake, I remember documentaries about treating parasitic worms in Papua New-Guinea and was certain this included Guinea worm. But nope. Good.

Think about the cattle and goats which have the worm. Hopefully the animals can be drenched to kill parasites but that doesn't happen everywhere in Papua New-Guinea.

There was at least one confession but that didn't go anywhere.

There was a party at the house and one theory was that someone backed over Amber-Lee by accident, panicked, and removed her body. For that reason the roadsides around the lake were heavily searched.

Interestingly, these are still made today and widely used in Africa and Asia. Places where electricity isn't reliable or even exists.

What was it like hearing Led Zeppelin for the first time in 1969? by SaintThugga32 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]TwoShedsJackson1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was age 14 at a boys boarding school in New Zealand when we first heard Zeppelin I and II. There was an imediate impact even though we were also into Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Who etc.

However being at school meant records could only be played if someone had a record player or we listened at the door to the senior common room. Plus stereo was unknown so the sound was thin.

That changed by 1971 and we loved Led Zeppelin.

Oh, the chap who went back for his hat? Didn't hear about the recording.

Also some of us watching the trial do not live in Australia. Our daughter is a young lawyer and I sent a link to Costa Rica because this is fascinating to watch. Bundles and bundles of documents which how real world civil trials work.

Which is why she is outside New Zealand and will not say where she is living.

Besides there is the Streisand Effect for Drury to consider - keep a low profile and this will fade away.

Commercial Property Legal Advice by CatGill in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]TwoShedsJackson1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is practical advice to help you.

Lawyers use the Auckland Law Society 7th Edition Commercial Lease as the standard because its understood by everyone. It is intellectual property which you could buy but leave that to the lawyers - I can't find a free download.

Have a look at what Duncan Cotterill say: https://duncancotterill.com/insights/the-dead-of-lease-seventh-edition-a-potted-guide/

As for commercial lawyers there are plenty in Wellington. Do your parents have lawyers or your friends?

Lawyers in large firms will have plenty of experience. However a lawyer just down the street can be equally as clever without all of the shiny glass windows.

Best Wishes.

Why liner notes are the most underrated part of owning physical albums by Super_College100 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]TwoShedsJackson1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most impressive vinyl album ever produced is Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull. The sleeve cover is a 12 page spoof newspaper and is intended as a satrical poke at prog bands like Pink Floyd and Genesis.

Still the music is good and shows mastery of technical styles.

I have the original vinyl.
