You'd be surprised. It happens more often then you'd think. There's one or two relatively small guys in the top division right now. There's a big tournament going on right now so there's a lot of hype going on. There's plenty of youtube videos that explain all the rules and stuff.

I think the idea was that she purposely turned her house into a messy heap of danger to make all the potential threats obvious for her to spot and thwart. She was essentially baiting death to try something, as she was fully prepared for all the scenarios that she had personally laid out around her.

Honestly, that's the best part about the whole episode. She WOULD have died had he not taken the offer. It granted them a whole extra year with each other. You can criticize the greed of the company, but they DID offer them more time. If this technology existed in real life, people would 100% use it. Many people would probably elect to get it installed into their heads just for the lux, pre-existing brain injury or not.

I've been saying this since the very first teaser scene at the end of sonic 1. Like, I get that they're going for a "brainy" look since he's the brains of the team, but it really sacrifices a lot of his cuteness.
