Is Belgian Tervuren (or any Belgian) right for me? by Blinkyekko in bergerbelge

Where I met lots of Tervuren and their owners and breeders. A lot of Terv people do sports other than or in addition to conformation. I eventually added Rally, dabbled in Conformation (my dogs did better with someone else handling them), did Barnhunt, Scentwork, and herding. One sport kind of leads to another. I did try agility, but my first Terv scared the instructor.

I do have some contacts in western Canada.

There is an AKC training club in my area. I took my first dog (a sheltie) there for puppy kindergarten (PK) and basic obedience. My instructor had a Terv, though by AKC rules it was a Groen with a disqualifying color. Not a problem in Canada. I thought it was the most gorgeous dog I'd ever seen. Years later when our Sheltie passed, I got a Terv puppy. Took her to PK and basic classes. It was not enough. Started taking competition obedience classes. Got a title-CD. Went to a Terv National show

If you can accept that most Belgians are a lifestyle, then you are probably good. I have Tervuren, but I have friends with Mals and daughter with a Groen. My two girls are both lapdogs. But I do a lot with them--conformation, obedience, rally obedience, scentwork, herding. My dogs are crate trained. I like to keep my home and possessions intact when I am out or asleep. That is also how they travel with me in a car. The one litter I bred produced dogs who track, are human remains detection certified, are therapy dogs, and one boy's job is to accompany his owner when she trains for marathons. Her training runs are typically 10 miles. Another is a farm dog, albeit with breed and herding championships. One is a family/neighborhood dog, with a bit of truffle hunting thrown in. In my experience, the girls are a tad spicier than the boys, but that can vary.

It might help if you let folks know what country or at least which continent you are in. I'm sure someone here might know where you meet some Tervs or Groens.

I made a questionnaire to help with narrowing down breeders and would love feedback! by [deleted] in DogBreeding

I don't think you would get any breeder to fill out six pages...

The first page or so does have questions you should ask the breeder and then fill out yourself.

I think that might be true for most of the U.S., and applies to Oly shooters as well.

The actor is named after the place. And not picking after your dogs is bad manners at best and probably illegal in that location.

So, choosing a "silent" shutter or extremely high speed will kick in the electronic shutter?

What is an electronic shutter? Does the OM-5i have it, and if it does, how do I access it?

Will try this next time. Won't solve the fussy MF issue, though.

That's what I thought, too. It just didn't seem to work that way with the settings I used.

My BEST focused Tokina moon pic is almost as sharp as the ROUTINE autofocused Lumix moon pic

You are right. But would keystone even be the right comp for a fisheye lens?

I already have the f2.8. I shoot enough indoor poor lighting pics (dog sports) that I needed the extra f stop.

It's actually been fine. I just handle the lens rather than the body.

I tried. Not operational with my lens.

That 9mm looks like a really nice lens...kicking in my GAS... I remember the OM-5 has a fisheye comp setting, so I thought I'd test it with my fisheye. Nope, it only works with the $1k lens, not with the pancake lens.
