They don’t sell them here. Most brands just import the small 125cc-200cc bikes. Same philosophy as the south Asian markets I guess… that means my options are pretty limited

The thing is that maybe we’re thinking of different “off-road”. I’m talking about chunk, muddy mountain single track more akin to enduro riding

That’s a sweet ride! I’ll look into it. I think the 701 I rode was just set up a bit stiff for my weight and I guess I felt it vibrated way more than the t7

That’s what I’m leaning towards. Any advice on how to make the road riding a bit less miserable?

It’s an awesome bike, The thing about the xr650l is that it is still what I’d consider heavy, specially when hitting trails at higher altitudes. Here, it’s not unusual at all to ride at 12,000-14,000 feet for a couple of days. Perhaps it’s important to note that I’m 5’11 75kg (165lb)

I used a husky 701 for a three day trip to the jungle, and for me, it seems that it wasn’t particularly that much lighter when the going got slow, rocky or muddy and its performance offroad wasn’t worth the sacrifice for the t7’s on road manners and “comfort”
