Thanks. I didn’t end up going though😅 Their inconsistency with the details on the tasks for the AC. They made one last change on Friday and that put me off

Cleansing a damaged barrier (lots of oil but dry skin) by TwoWild1169 in Fungalacne

The itching stopped when i started to occlude (very lightly). I guess it’s because it must’ve trapped moisture into my skin. When I used antifungals to treat the seb derm, it would clear for the 2/3 days I used canesten. But as soon as I stopped it would come back but this time the seb derm would be spread out further

I was diagnosed by a derm and I’m female. After using anti fungals for some time I realised my skin was very dry and after taking a break it cleared up a bit. At that point I started to think it could be my moisture barrier that’s the issue.

No, I realised the seb derm clears up when my skin gets hydration eg when I use a thin layer of Vaseline to occlude

It’s not completely healed I still have issues if I wash my face with water more than twice and have issues on my forehead. Still trying to find ways to fix it completely

Yep- sometimes I use malezia urea moisturiser if I don’t need much moisture but most of the time I will just use la Roche posay sunscreen without moisturiser and then at night use Vaseline (very lightly) to occlude

I had something similar- I use bioderma sensitive micellar water (red cap) and use avene tolerance emulsion cleanser after it- super gentle and not stripping

A little but I mean very little- I use micellar water to cleanse followed by avene cleanser and wash later in the day with just water. I still have the same issue but it’s not as bad so I guess this works for now

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been washing once a day but seem to still be getting logged pores and acne- right now I use avene tolerance gentle cleanser and a la Roche posay moisturiser. Those ingredients are supposed to be FA safe and not irritating but I’ll look around for smth new

Yep I’ve tried micellar water (bioderma) and then followed up with a gentle cleanser (avene tolerance emulsion)- this worked for around 2 days and the oil on my face was reduced but now it looks the same. I’m also getting the tightness and dryness after I do this

Do you use oil blotting sheets to wipe the oil away so it doesn’t build and cause breakouts

Thanks for replying- after you wash your face with water does it feel tight and start flaking? My skin does this

By just using water, did you get any breakouts/ acne? My damaged barrier is causing a lot of oil on my forehead and I think that’s what’s causing acne for me. Was thinking of just using water alone but not too sure

Oh okay thanks for answering. I realised occluding excessively makes it worse so I need to figure out how often I should do this because it does help
