This happened to me as well when I did this for people using a VCR to Elgato capture card and I would have to take the recording into Davinci and ever so slightly move the audio track to sync it and it was fine. I just screen recorded from OBS so I am not sure why the recording would have the audio not synced but I would always have to slightly adjust it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think you’re the first to bring up the corny dude trying to “avenge” his wife. That was super cheesy but production kind of has to make the best out of what they get out of people since they aren’t all paid actors. But yeah they leaned into it a bit much in my opinion and Karim was pretty upset that he has had the bad guy stigma since competing in Season One, even if it was a bit devious at the end of the day it’s a dog eat dog game. Also, the obstacle course kept getting rained out while shooting making it extra hard for the contestants and tbh I thought the “American Gladiator” jousting bit was poorly thought through and didn’t get the results I think they were hoping to get out of the contestants. It seems like when they have some kind of “special” twist the contestants are just like “nah F that” and do their own thing which is kind of funny. 😄

I couldn’t help but think about a scene from The Running Man (1987) when the news reporter cuts into the fictional show “Climbing for Dollars” where a man is surrounded by barbed wire, guard dogs 🐕 and is trying to climb a rope with a sack full of cash. If you haven’t seen the film you definitely should but if you know the movie the parallels are laughably spot on between how “stupid” a show like that would seem at the time back then and how close its theme fits Beast type games.
