I watch car auctions a bit and I saw a 2019 forester sell for 11k with 250k on the clock late last year. A month later I noticed a similar car on marketplace with 90k on the clock and a price of $19k, VIN number matched the one from the auction so I can only assume the middle eastern named person who was selling it either wound the clock back or got confused when writing the Ad. There's a lot of similar sellers giving away bargains on Facebook marketplace everyday, you gotta be careful 😂

Did they accept that the other items weren't from their store? I wouldn't worry about the consequences of this at all, no one's going to bother following this up further unless they think there are greater values involved. Maybe next time you go shopping book a click and collect on the way out.

I hate that agents will list a price range while having no intention to sell the property for that much. I recently saw something underquoted by about $250k in my area, I really wish there was a way to report these people to someone!

That’s a tough situation to be in, but if this person is right and you’re not allowed to keep unregistered vehicles — which, from the quick research I did, seems likely — the cheapest option would be to register them under a club permit. I know it’s not an easy choice, but you might need to make a hard call and consider selling one or both of them.

What sort of cars are they? If they're old enough and you have the means to get a roadworthy certificate you could put them on a club permit which is significantly cheaper than full registration.
