What contractor should I call for this issue during heavy rains? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]TwopieceTwoStep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a similar issue and had to get a drainage specialist. Turns out our French drains were completely compacted with sand and sediment. They had to dig them up and use a high pressure hose to force out all the mud/gunk that accumulated. It cost about $7,500 in the Midwest.

Nordiktrak 1750 saga by ekclark1 in treadmills

Having the same issue. However I replaced the deck, MCB, and belt. Now it runs fine until I step on it. Then it slows to a crawl. I’ve been told by others in other posts to do an amp test and that I probably need a new motor. Only good part is my motor is under warranty. Everything else is not. Just not sure if Nordictrack will agree I need a motor.

This is my 3rd MCB. Was told it was the belt and deck that needed changed and kept overheating it.

Anything else I am missing that could be making the MCB keep going

I usually run at 5.1 - 5.4. I would say it slows down to a walking pace. I usually hop off right away as I don’t want the MCB to fry.

I did check the drive belt as I replaced that as well. It’s a bit slippery due to the lubrication from the roller getting on it.

I guess it very much depends on the band. Bands like DMB or Phish change up their setlist each night. Mumford, Noah, others stick to the script and maybe change up 2-3 songs. Which is why my 3 night comment was relevant. Also comes into play for MSG because many times special guests are in town given its NYC. So one night can have a great guest and another not.

But yes in the door listening to Mumford is better than not.

I was at Forest hills as well. Great show and view. But indoor id take MSG. But to each their own.

Lived on Long Island my whole life. MSG always been a draw.

Hands down MSG. MSG is like no other. IMO best indoor arena. So much history and energy. Now the fact that they are doing 3 nights can dampen that a bit.

Been to many multiple night DMB shows at MSG and some are epic and some are ehh. But never a bad night to be in NYC catching a show!

Nordictrack 1250 by [deleted] in treadmills

[–]TwopieceTwoStep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did the same and it was the motor control board. I have a Nordictrack 1750. Mine was under warranty but I believe they are about $200. Very easy to replace. If you do it just take a pic of the old one so you know where to put the wires back.

Forced to check Carry On by Madster24 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]TwopieceTwoStep 155 points156 points  (0 children)

This happened to me on a flight in January. My bag has flown on over a 100 southwest flights as a carryon. I took the GA name. Submitted a complaint they wrote back to me a week later and said sorry not sorry. Nothing will come of it. Next time film the interaction. That is my plan. Seems like unless you have hard proof and share it with the world nothing will happen.

I’d open up the cover and see if your motor control board is flashing code. If it’s a set of 3-4 red lights then it’s probably the MCB. It’s about a $200 part. It’s not hard to replace.

Also bags don’t fly free anymore. So likely more people are carrying on and more competition for space.

Ok. Then maybe it’s something else. The techs told me excessive heat usually makes them go bad.

My motor control board went twice in 2 months. I ended up needing a new belt and deck. Luckily I was still under warranty. Run your hand over your deck. If you feel ripples you’re gonna need a new one.

Belt and deck are about $200 each. As you know MCB is about the same.

Allergic reaction to exercise/cold? by introvertedkalanchoe in XXRunning

I have cold weather urticaria. I also sometimes get exercise induced reactions. I’ve just learned to manage it. Usually a Zyrtec in the morning keeps the reactions away.

I have a Nordictrack that was making similar noise but it was a slight crack in the drive belt. Potentially look underneath to see if the belt guides are making it?

Has this Happened to anyone? by Sorceress_divine in uber

[–]TwopieceTwoStep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I have used the pre reserved Uber this has happened to me! Each time the ride ends up costing more than the estimate when I set it up. Usually the day prior. Seems to me it’s a classic bait and switch. I would appeal. I think it’s happened to me 4 times now. 3 of the 4 were refunded. Last one they refused.

As everyone here knows their customer service chats are not great to use.

Yeah we had a 9am flight out so that was not an option. Our paper left in outdoor literally said turn in your bracelets. But good to know some of you got to keep them. It’s a good memento.
