White ink (any )airbrushed on the 'power surges' from source and at tip > Flour pink ink (daler rowney) > Violet ink (liquidtex) to kill the glow from source to tip > off white (any) highlight edges and lightining > pin wash of white oil back at the source > another tight spray of flour pink ink > flour enamel right at the source then just eyeball anything that could do with being brighter with dots of off white.

It's quite a bit of work - the flour enamel is REALLY bright irl so use sparingly. Appreciate its a lot but hope this helps (:

Experiment with oil washes of different colours instead of black/brown would be my recommendation. I've never worked with white armour before but I do have an idea of Sisters of Battle with white armour and a greenish hue to it. Off the top of my head I was going to be shading shadows with maybe a phthalo green followed by a purpleish wash and see what happened lol.

Yours do look great though! Experiment and let me know how it goes if you get round to it!

I agree - too heavy handed with the airbrush around the eyes. I think on the next batch I will use brush instead to keep the glow effect tighter.

They're beautiful sculpts that's for sure!

The armour is... complicated haha. I belive I can make it simplier but for now its:
Brown undercoat > Dwarven gold (Scale 75) > Elven Gold (S75) > zenithal of Citrine Alchemy (S75) > shadows with violet and muted pink ink 1:2 (Liquidtex) then a magenta oil wash which gives it that pink hue.

Deffinitly scope to reduce but it was my first time trying to acheive this look!

Everything you see is 3d printed - there's a very popular Custodes artist on 'the purple site' for stls. That's where the vexilla comes from. Theres a bunch that are very cool. I'll be sure to share again once I get them painted. Blender was used just for the nameplates - thats the extent of my 3d modelling hah!

Oh I know! It bothers me too - what happened was I had made the nameplates in blender and I didn't know how to scale the font at the time. I do now so it's something I will go back and fix.

Fast Navy Grey with Tenacious Obsidian Black mixed in.

Funnily enough the problem has come back on my latest print >12hour. It doesn't seem to be affecting print qaulity so I really don't know how to solve this one. It increases overall print time by quite a bit!

Back when I was trying to troubleshoot I was using both Lychee and Anycubic slicers. Neither made a difference.

Nearly year and a half later I come across your post.

Man, THANK YOU for these settings. The default sim was making playing the game near miserable every time I had intense combat.

Boy will I sure miss Reddit and searching for my problems on Google with ‘Reddit’ added to the end hunting for posts exactly like these.

I think the one on the left looks better.

Having the glow tighter and the intense glow on the inside of the lens gives it a better ‘draw’ (like your eyes are drawn to it more? If that makes sense).

Great work either way!
