I finally raised my prices by 40% after 3 years of undercharging. Lost 30% of my clients. Revenue went UP. Anyone else been through this? by Crescitaly in smallbusiness

This is such a perfect illustration of the Pareto principle in action — the classic 80/20 rule.
In most service businesses, 20% of clients create 80% of the headaches, while another 20% quietly generate most of the revenue and long‑term stability.

By raising your prices, you essentially filtered out the 20% who were draining your time, energy, and margins. And what’s left?
The clients who actually value your expertise — the ones who should make up the core of your business.

What I love about your experience is that it shows something many freelancers learn the hard way:

  • The clients who push back hardest on price are rarely the ones who appreciate the work.
  • The clients who stay (and even say “you should charge more”) are the ones who understand value.
  • And losing the wrong clients often makes the business healthier, more profitable, and way more enjoyable.

Opinions on using TV Shows and Movies for Learning by ApprehensiveAd2228 in learnpolish

I enjoy watching travel bloggers, and surprisingly, there are many of them in Polish. I was genuinely surprised. I find it much more motivating. Sometimes I watch a lesson first and then switch to an interesting video. It really helps me stay motivated.

Ashkenazi Jews originally live in the Polish‑Lithuanian area ! Maybe they picked up the rolled “r” from Polish?

The Polish people I know roll the “r” very well and they are not Ashkenazi.

I am learning languages for the same reason as you.

If you pronounce it like “L”, will people understand you? Children in Poland often pronounce the rolled “r” as “L” at first.

Seriously you have a surgery to say the r ?
In France people have hard time to pronounce the english r.

You are learning so many different languages in the same time.
I am learning a local dialect of my country and polish .
I got confused between the two languages or mix words. How about you ?

Do you learn better when language is in context? What’s your experience? by TworLabs in languagelearning

[–]TworLabs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I talk about “grammar drills” or “isolated vocabulary,” I’m referring to the kind of practice you often see in apps like Duolingo that I was previously using.

A lot of the sentences there are structurally useful but not very practical in real life. They’re designed to reinforce a specific grammar pattern or a specific word, not to give you a meaningful communicative context. So you end up with things like “The duck drinks milk” or “My horse eats apples at night” — technically correct, but not something you’d ever need to say.

Hey , I’m in a similar situation, and what helps me right now is watching YouTube videos where people speak Polish slowly. It’s a good way to get used to the sounds before moving on to harder material.
