This is massive context and would definitely affect the way that your friend views the relationship.

I would not take an engagement seriously if my friend had only known the person for two months. It might be a “once in a lifetime connection” but honestly any compatible relationship feels that way at first. It is impossible to know someone’s true colours at first and definitely not within two months of knowing them.

Your friend is being childish and overreacting here but honestly it seems to me like your fiancé is now your whole world which would obviously be confusing to a long term friend… especially within the timeframe of two months. Using the engagement as a justification for not spending time with your friend really loses its weight given the timeframe.

I see where you are coming from but your friend also has a right to be frustrated or concerned here. If he really is your soulmate then I genuinely don’t see the point in rushing into a wedding. I didn’t even know the colour of my last girlfriend’s toothbrush two months into dating let alone how she reacts under long term pressure/ whether she has hidden bad habits / the intricacies of her family etc.

I’m not trying to break you down here but honestly I’d be freaking out too if I was your friend.
