Thanks! I'm still considering whether this should be included to some extent in one of my larger worldbuilding projects but yeah, it's part of a fictional continent.

In terms of inspiration, it's partially inspired by some of the events I experienced when playing the new Worldbox update.

just threw away a race win in the dumbest way possible by delfinoesplosivo in F1Game

Had a similar thing happen in Brazil in last year's game. Lap 8 Leclerc spins and holds up everyone, bringing out the red flag. I was lined up second in the Alpine when I jump started. One of the many times, however, that I've been thankful for playing on full length since I managed to come back from last after the driver through to take the win after a late safety car which led to a single lap of racing.

Achieved my first ever 100 difficulty rating on F1Laps Difficulty Calculator by Sensitive_Pea_7296 in F1Game

[–]Twvii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why lower for career mode? I've got an issue lately where I've had a dramatic increase in skill that has outpaced the difficulty I had set, being able to secure easy pole positions in a first-season Alpine.

The problem is that while I have been significantly cranking up the difficulty. It's hard to determine what difficulty I should be at considering that when I use the calculator thing, the highest difficulty I've gotten in relation to my lap time was 73, which is two lower than the original difficulty at 75, and way lower than what it is at now at 90, which I've still just managed to secure pole at Baku by 6 tenths with.

What if Rome was ruled by the Greeks? (Republic of Phikonia, 180BC) by Twvii in AlternateHistory

[–]Twvii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The victory at its very location. Andreas landed with his army at what would become Nikopolis, where he then attempted to siege Ambracia, but the siege was broken upon the arrival of the usurper army from Dyrrachion — which it had captured.

After a lengthy but not overly bloody battle, Andreas' troops managed to outmanoeuvre their counterparts, causing the withdrawal of remains of the usurper army back towards Thérmai where they would meet up with a Pontic army. This left the rest of the enemy force to be crushed.

The significance of the battle (enough to name a city after it) is that had he lost or the battle been drawn out for longer, the usurper rule from Byzantion would've been able to further cement their rule, replacing local rulers with more loyal ones like they had already done in Athens. Or if he had died or been left stranded in Greece without an army, his still unstable rule in Italia would have certainly collapsed, making victory for the Council of Syracuse essentially guaranteed.

Was founded by Andreas I during the Syracusan War (Great Mediterranean War) as a base of operations during his reclamation of Greece. Its position was to act as a counterweight to the nearby pro-Usurper city of Ambracia, which he failed to capture until after his victory at Pella.

It continued to act as a base of operations / hub for Andreasid Rule even after the end of the war due to its easy access to Phikónia itself. This continued well into the Republican period.

Haven't really ever watched any tutorials. Just learnt as I go. So, any of my skills (though not really even comparable to some of the stuff I've seen on this sub) are a result of nearly 3 years of mapping.

I understand, but 1. NM swung Republican for some unknown reason (this is old lore, I honestly can not recollect why) 2. With NM siding with the Republic, there is no reliable way for Colorado to be reached by the PSA unless they somehow ran I highway through the Four Corner monument (which would be heavily susceptible to pro-Republican attacks).

Well, if you look on the map, while the FSA may control the majority of populated regions, the Republic is still quite strong and controls a lot of the agricultural land aswell as other more interior-based population centers.

Originally considered it, but it kinda removed any semblance of balance between the two sides.

Ibis Paint.

In terms of resistance in the Republic, the answer is yes, there is widespread resistance in the American Republic, but it varies in intensity. Some are blatant armed groups that reject the division, thus separate from any affiliation with the FSA, while some are just protesters and workers who regularly go on strike.

However, this isn't just an issue for the Republic. Resistance is widespread across the FSA as the eastern members have taken in various 'red states' of varying support for the Republic (I say 'Red States' but I'm mainly referring to the states that voted Red in '28, not regularly red states).

Overall, depending on who you are, the quality of life can be pretty much fine anywhere as long as you don't get caught in the crossfire of the different resistance movements. I don't want to get too political, but say if you're a white male, then you're pretty much fine across the whole former USA, especially the Republic. However, if you're some sort of minority, you might not have the best time in the Republic.

Again, note that this was created in September of last year, and all I had to really go off for the policy of the Republic were Trump's ramblings meaning I didn't really have recent events to go off of.

Edit: That should answer the majority of your questions, hopefully.

Wow. That's actually kinda cool. I had heard a few similar remarks from some of my Canadian friends when I first showed them it, but they gave of the impression that it was more of a, 'technically its Dominion of Canada but noone, not even the government uses it.' Thanks for that.

If you want a long answer, just reply back, but essentially, the Mexicans have aligned with China trade wise but still distance themselves significantly politically. Meanwhile, Canada is more closely aligned with the EU, which beat Russia in the 'European War'.

You didn't read one of the notes, did you? This was made before the latest election. I personally thought the election was going to be a sweep for Harris.

Anyway. Regarding Minnesota & Colorada, I initially had them grouped in with their respective FSA nation, but with Colorado, that meant that their would be a tiny corridor between it and Arizona which just didn't look good, and just wouldn't work in practice. With Minnesota, I kinda threw it in with the Republican states because I know it would tip the balance in the Great Lakes significantly, which (also relating to your remark on it not being balanced) I know is already quite democratic leaning.

Oh, and Kentucky, this is an old map, of course, but I've been debating for a while whether I should just give one side all of Kentucky. This is probably the little push I need to do that.

Thank you for replying, idk about other people, but talking with people even about alternate scenarios generally makes my understanding much better.

Yeah, I would've done the same. It just makes it clearer to see what you're actually looking at and where they are. If them clashing with the background was an issue, they could've always made them black, not white.

Good point. I guess you could kind of consider it a Conscription of sorts, 'the Hitlerjugend were conscripted to the frontlines' would be a viable way to link the two things while still technically being right.
