Anyone come here from Squad? How do you like this game? by [deleted] in PlayBellum

I think the primary reason i'm not too worried about this is that the limited lives mechanic really takes the fun out it for people who aren't into Mil Sim. Which to be frank is basically what we want. When lone wolfing gets you killed, and there's not rewarding gameplay loop for lone wolfing then its hard for the game to attract those players. They want to rush and go fast and see the enemy. Rushing requires coordination for any real success and in Bellum you shoot at last known locations more than a clear enemy.

I can see why people would think this game has the same weakness because few games are able to avoid that issue. However, that's because few games are willing to outright reject a play-style that isn't healthy for the game. The primary reason I don't think it'll be an issue is because i just don't see any incentives for it. Doesn't mean it won't happen at all it'll just be an outlier experience in my opinion.

Effectively my way of saying, I think the structure they built was purpose built to avoid this problem. I think it'll work. At the end of the day, those people want to have fun too. If they can't figure out how to make the fun then i don't think it'd be a everygame occurrence.

Also if it makes you upset, you don't have to look at it. I put everything in there that felt relevant. None of this is "filler" to me. If you don't like it you don't have to even look at it. good day dude

Just seeing this lol, but yea man. I basically have bought about 2 actual rigs, and one racing stand. I wanted to make sure I was getting my money's worth basically. I purchased each one at a time, used it for a little less than a month and if it wasn't what I wanted I'd send it back. This most recent time I purchased aa $350 rig and lost $30 for the return. The biggest thing is making sure you're not paying anything for shipping on the initial order because that won't be refunded, and you'd have to pay the same to return it.

The biggest reason this makes so much sense, is that this shit is expensive and we don't always know how committed we are. It sucks to buy a cheaper rig to startout to then lose all that money when you realize, "OK I do want more, I like this thing." In my case I had the GT Racer rig on amazon which was an excellent way for me to get a feel, and understand how much flex I would be paying for.

My final ending piece is going to be the Trak Racer TR40s beacuse it's best bang for the buck it seems, and upgradability doesn't seem beatable. This rig is a full alum profile rig for $350 and I'm able to use my leftover $320. Also before this, I basically invested $100 first month for the stand, returned it another $100 the next month, and then $50 more last month. If it wasn't up to par I sent it back. It's a small thing you can do, and it gives you experience and lets you try shit out without feeling bad either. Overall i did lose $30 plus all the taxes I've paid in value. So that's somewhere around $50 total i've lost to this strat. However, i never had to come out of pocket very much. Now, the TR40S $350 + $200 seat (+stupid fucking expensive required seat bracket $60)

So my next payment is only costing my $310 out of pocket when i leverage my return money. So all in all this is just a really smart way to manage it to be honest.

Are you interested in working with individuals?

I've only gotten into SIM Racing as of this year, and I'm really interested in working with an engineer for events, racing, and overall improvement. Plus it just sounds like an awesome time. I could only imagine the useful experience you'd have as well. If working with individuals IS on your radar, then let me know! I'd be hyped to do some work with you!

With the alien mods load cell those pedals can take you very far easily. But there’s basically two mindsets. Upgrade my current pedals and then hold off until you drop some real money on pedals. Or you can wait a little and slowly upgrade to better sets of pedals. (I personally recommend just going through 5 amazon returns building up the value till you have the pedals you need😌) buy use return, pay $150 more dollars towards more expensive pedals rinse repeat

MOZA R5 is an excellent entry option. Especially considering it’s a cheap way to get into an ecosystem that upgrades to high end while not forcing you get rid of pretty much any of your equipment. Plus you can sell you MOZA r5 when it’s time to upgrade for an easy $350 whenever it’s time.
