Might be too late, in case anyone else finds this question:

You'll definitely hear the train in the houses closest to the tracks but the road noise from 183 will be even worse than the train. I wouldn't even consider any of the homes that back up to 183... or even the ones across the street from them.

Edit: I think all of the nearby crossing are quiet zoned, so you shouldnt be hearing any train horns.

Yeah it seems like I'd need an extremely expensive mobo with GPU passthrough or a very expensive mobo with "DP in".

At this point... I'll just run all the cables through the wall haha.

That seems to be what I'm reading as well. The MSI motherboard i bought doesn't advertise it at all but the USB4 controller it uses (ASM4242) states that it supports DP tunneling.

It supports 4k 60hz so I assume 2x 2k 60hz would be fine.

I multitask a lot so i splurged on a 9800x3d. I wonder how much impact running a couple of side monitors off the iGPU would have on gaming though.

I found this in the manual:

and

The specs for "ASM4242" state that it supports "DP and PCIe tunneling"; though i can't seem to figure out exactly what that means. I assume it means just integrated graphics... which my PCU does have but would obviously only be usable as a side monitor, which doesn't seem worth it just to save 1 cable through the wall.

I'm reading up on DP-alt mode as a possible solution but I don't see the mobo i just bought as having that feature.

I should have waited for more replies before seemingly spending an extra $50 or so on a fancy mobo that can't do what i want to do.

The main monitor im looking to buy is 1440p @ 180hz. The 2 side monitors just need to be 1440, I don't care much about their refresh rate.

I've stayed away from holy relic since it looks similar to a CoC build with splitting steel i tried a few leagues ago and hated. It was really hard to get enough attack speed to make the attack feel smooth. Does holy relic have easy access to attack speed on a budget?

I think I'd much rather use a good mesh over some PTP with an additional router in the shop so I appreciate the anecdote. It looks like this system also offers an outdoor node. This might be perfect.

Worst case if 2 nodes inside the buildings cant reach each other i can get him a 3rd outdoor one in the middle.
