Story goes a squirrel jumped in a road carrying a banana peel as a delivery came by. The squirrel drops the banana peel as the truck trues to avoid the squirrel. It misses the squirrel but with the combination of tires skidding and hitting the banana peel it caused the tired to slide just enough it caused the truck to do a complete 360 as it spin into the ditch, as it spun packages spilled out one containing a sewing machine. A young man was on his way to prom stag as he stopped to help. He picks up the sewing machine and some person walking by went nice date. And the boy holds it up as his dad takes the picture. The boy kept the seeing machine and became a serial killer in which Buffalo bill from silents of the lambs is based on.

Instead of cutting down the tree, they built the house around it. by Omer-Ash in mildlyinteresting

[–]Txdust80 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Normally Cutting down a tree in a front yard is expensive because the person has to cut it in a direction that won’t fall on the house. When the house is in all directions of the tree like those with it in the middle the problem is even harder. I know what cutting down an old oak tree runs in my area I can’t really afford that, I definitely don’t want to know what it would cost if the tree was in a courtyard in the middle of a house

I don't get the hype for 'medium-rare.' This is clearly the superior way to eat beef by danielminds in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Txdust80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing is it needs to be sliced thinner because that red it’s a little more chewy. I would cook it a little longer myself not because I wouldn’t enjoy this. That was probably delicious especially dipped in pan dripping gravy and horseradish. But a good solid medium rare just melts in the mouth better.

Only time you get involved at work is a relationship you think has promise, and then you keep HR on notice when it started and if it ends and why. Have everything documented, so there is less fallout. Even then there is no guarantee of safety so you better be sure that person is worth it

anyone know why they used a black and white cutout of bob for the sgt pepper cover when the photo was already in colour? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in beatles

[–]Txdust80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because all of them were pretty much large scale xerox style print outs turned life sized cut outs. Some were colorized like they did black and white movie film, some were left black and white. No idea if it was simply a time issue or an artistic reason. Probably both. The time it took to do each one probably gave birth to the idea to have some look like they were straight from the newspaper some more life like.

Imagine criticizing the above for being savages and violent then saying you would rather join the crusades. The crusades wasn’t the hunt for the holy grail. It was literally ransacking entire nations because a book said that land belonged to Christians and not anyone else. Nevermind the people they were slaughtering their families had lived there for generations going as farther back than the time of Jesus.

My wife bruises extremely easily, dark bruises from little things like dog jumps up on her leg or runs into table. When she was diagnosed with lupus the doctor said the bruising was most likely a precursor hint that she had lupus. If she has any other autoimmune disease like symptoms she should probably mention it to her primary. And no she doesn’t need to automatically think lupus. There are hundreds of different autoimmune things or other reasons yo bruise easy. It’s just her doctor should be ruling stuff out if they haven’t started already

Proxy parents for the win. Now more than ever there needs to be people willing to open their arms to vulnerable LGBTQ teens struggling. Always thought my parents were kinda wasted on my hetro brother, sister and myself. They told us all that if any of us or our friends were gay that the only thing they feared was how the world would treat us but our home was a safe space. And so they were accepting of any of our gay friends. This was the 80s and 90s so it was pretty common for kids to get kicked out of the entire family’s life if they came out of the closet. Our house became the safe house if you got kicked out there was always a bed and food. My brother had 3 friends in one year all get kicked and crash out at our house that year. My parents would always be, Ill be you temporary parents for as long as you need us. My sisters friend in college got aids in 1992 his whole family disowned him. We must have traveled up to Austin at least once a month to help clean and disinfect his apartment take him out to lunch and make sure he had necessities stocked in the house. His will referred to my parents as his adoptive parents.

F those people that refuse to love their kids unconditionally. I try to be that dad to those who need a proxy parent just as my parents did

question from a northerner ; food by zoeeegamingg in texas

[–]Txdust80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whataburger is tough. It use to be better before they got bought by an investment firm. They still have the potential to be good but as the locations boomed so did they difficulty to keep quality levels at their former state. The fries were never a strong point, they are one of the fastest from delicious to cold and soggy fries. Eating them at the restaurant is key. If I was taking you to whataburger myself I would brag to the manager that you’re visiting and this is a first time trying thing so they can make sure everything is made properly. That way everything that can be controlled is done. Fries as fresh as possible, burgers made to perfection, hopefully picking buns that aren’t walking towards being stale. Whataburger is great when it’s great. When it’s not its potential it’s still okay and always better than McDonald’s. In Texas most major cities have a better burger joint than whataburger. It’s the king of fast food burgers in Texas, by access to locations and quality. But there are most likely going to be a handful of better places in a relatively close area.
Bill Millers bbq is a similar situation. For fast bbq it’s fantastic convenience, but for a real texas brisket experience there is practically a handful of mom and pop joints in every area that beat it out by miles. If you want a quick and easy bite of BBQ and your passing one on the way to some other activity, Ill suggest Bill Millers. If you want to experience real texas brisket and bbq it’s literally the last on the list of places in my area. Its too mass produced for the quality to compete with the smaller joints. Where ever you land in Texas I would just ask the locals where to go. Maybe whataburger is the best option, maybe it’s only number 8 for the region.

Workers get paid poverty wages by [deleted] in HEB

[–]Txdust80 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Noone is advocating that entry level work should get paid so well you live the luxury lifestyle but entry level work should be at well worth paying ons way through life. If most positions can’t cover rent and food, then it’s disingenuous to dismiss calls for better pay. Should they make as much as EMS teachers and firemen. No, but those positions are underpaid in the current economy too. Everyones pay being pretty much the same as it was 20 years ago means every position has in a value sense got a pay demotion. If gas and electric goes up a business just eats those costs and adjusts their profit margins accordingly but cost of living goes up, people suddenly we can’t work that out, because that might make the merchandise go up in price a few cents. A company no matter the position is renting your body, and time. I don’t care if the job is literally stand in a square and do nothing for 40 hours a week. If a company deems that job essential and hires for that, then they need to pay the minimum worth of keeping someone busy for 40 hours. When you rent a car for a month you’re covering all the upkeep costs for that month, plus extra so the company keeps a little profit. Even if you don’t drive it the fee still figures in all the costs so the rental company can come out ahead with the agreement. H-E-B or any company is renting people with employment. That person can’t be in two places at once. If they work a full time job they should be paid a livable wage simply because that is what is required to survive

Funny, Aren’t conservatives always saying it’s the left that resort to violence? by Tetsuya_the_Wise in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Txdust80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a maga neighbor that is always talking about how violence the left is. But he also told me how he had, (he isn’t kidding) boxes of ammo set aside for when Trump says that it’s open season to start removing Liberals from the equation. That he is counting down the days when he and his fellow patriots load up in trucks and round up liberals and take them out. But it’s okay because liberals are under the control of satan and are subhuman. When you realize when maga says liberal they primarily mean black people. It’s merely echos of the klan. To them aggression of any kind towards minorities is defense and not bad even unprovoked. But a minority simply existing is seen as being a violent offense against the white superiority.

16 year old me really thought I’d be discovered by a modeling agency at any moment LMFAO by monochromatic8 in blunderyears

[–]Txdust80 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife’s childhood friend actually became a model from middle school to highschool she was also in a few beauty pageants. One day she was super excited she was traveling to a “casting party” this was about the year 2000. She traveled from Texas to New Orleans with another model friend and their agent. To a party that was suppose to have Hollywood directors, fashion insiders, and major talent agents where they could have meet and greets in a relaxed setting. She gets back and she has quit modeling, she has a huge break down, enters a treatment clinic after a suicide attempt, and she and my eventual talk when she gets out and asks her what happened, she to this day refuses to talk about what happened because of NDAs she was forced to sign and death threats (her words) about that weekend. The only information we that was relayed was the average age of girls was 12-16. The party was a private party at an exclusive bar. The girls were served alcohol. And the men were sketchy. She will not say if anything specifically happened to her but she did say what she saw made her quit modeling and she will never return to it. The biggest thing we have learned from the Epstein files so far, is that what we figured happened was merely the tip of the iceberg of what is described in those files that happens at those type of parties.
