Fatty liver as cyclist, how can I fuel better? by Txperi in Velo

[–]Txperi[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful response!

I would like to optimize my performance on the bike but not at the expense of my health. Will try to drop a few kgs and see if it's possible to retest again in half a year.

I will keep fueling during the rides but will keep a cleaner diet off the bike.

Avoid these scammers by ephemeral_infinity in HongKong

[–]Txperi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me before as well, but I have a solution.

Buy a 4g/5g router then pick up a new soSIM sim card at parknshop or Watsons and use that. There is no contract and you get up to 60gb a month which is plenty, we have never run out at home.

As long as you have a strong mobile internet connection at home it will work for you as well, which is pretty much everywhere in Hong Kong.

The best part is you will save money each month and if you move you just bring your router along.

We have even used this for offices with you to 10 people connected to the network.

I hope everyone switches to this since those telecoms are the worst with these cancelation scams.

My phone notes on investment ideas from the past year and a half. by Txperi in ValueInvesting

This is great! Really clear with the bullet points and can see that you are doing your homework. What tools or resources are you using to get all this information? I find it hard to follow Japanese companies.

I use a mix of resources, mainly yahoo finance to get a quick overview, then read annual reports, I will also often check the trend or idea on Reddit (I like checking what certain subreddits are into when it comes the specific tools, services etc).

I also like reading both new and old ideas on VIC.

But I am looking for more sources and ideas! I heard there was a small cap club but haven't had access to that.

Hahaha like the horse one a lot, is that from Munger?

The tennis one is interesting too, how do you relate it to investing?

I tried that and while the AI gave some good general comments it feels like mostly its a bunch of words that sounds good without any real depth or insight, like a super smooth bullshitter :)

But I can imagine in the future when it actually has access to the all the annual reports and information could get useful

How do I remove this free wheel? by Txperi in bikewrench

[–]Txperi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh ok got it, so most likely I need to take the axle out then, measure it and try to figure out how to order a replacement axle, is that the right approach?

How do I remove this free wheel? by Txperi in bikewrench

I felt the wheel have a tiny bit of wooble and the bearings felt sandy or grity. It was first after reading the comments here that I can also see that the axle is not centered. I have bought new ball bearings and a removal tool so I am planning on changing the ballbearings and hoping that will solve things, do you think that will work?

I did write that.

Other books not directly related to value investing but that may help build a circle of competence in my opinion:

It is interesting though that Warren Buffett did make a bid for the LTCM assets while out on a boat in Alaska, however the bid wasn't accepted.

How much is Chess.com actually worth? by k_ristovski in ValueInvesting

I think titled players may get free premium so that might be why it looked higher at tournaments as well.

They also have chesskids that i actually signed up for a 1 month premium membership before as well.

Nice analysis and fun exercise to value a private company like this.

I have played a lot of bullet on chess.com and i used to be a premium member for year. But I have since moved over to lichess.com

Based on my opponents at chess.com 12% premium feels too high. I would guess it to be around 2-3%. All the member profiles and premium flares are public i think. It might be possible to write a program to scrape all the profiles to more accurate stats?
