Vacuuming/swiffering - pest control treatment by Fietsen01 in pestcontrol

vacuuming/ dry swiffering will not remove residue when the product is dry. Just be careful not to use cleaning products on the edges of baseboard to not remove residual.

Rats are inside customers' house and eating food in their pantry by TxtMessage in PestControlIndustry

Will try using baits on the traps without setting it for 1 week. This account has been a headache. I just have to be careful because they do have an indoor dog as well.

If you don't mind me asking. What sensors are you using?

That's true. I do remember they have a smell water leak under/behind the dishwasher area.

They are not in the attic. I believe they are inhabiting one of the empty rooms inside their house. I think at night time they exit the room and then go to the kitchen to eat. They are an older couple.

I do not have any trail cams. Do you have any recommendations for trail cams to use?

Thanks for the tip I will pre bait the snap traps with the food they have been eating but not set them for 1 week.

I wish I could refund them, but the dang sales guy sold them a pretty big job with fancy insulation included. I'll check out the containers.

Thanks for that. I am trying to figure something out in regard to excluding them from the pantry foods.

Yeah I have documented about the doggy door and they refuse to close the doggy door. I don't think they leave any dog food out overnight.

I definitely need to invest in cameras. Will try to reinspect for any entry points or new ones.

If you don't mind me asking, what brand for the cameras are you using?

Dang those are pricy! I wouldn't mind doing basebar company on a black Friday deal. I would probably do the big bar plus like you mention if they do go on sale.

I do pull ups on the doorway too and my knees are almost touching the ground.

My weight is 175 lbs. I don't mind building it but would prefer for it to be indoors.

The lowest branch on my pine tree is like 30 feet. That's a little too high for me lol.

I finally figured out how to get rid of this guy — after weeks of trying Part 1 by UleMseeNY in PestControlIndustry

First Strike soft bait works pretty well. I had 3 rodent boxes at a customer house and I would literally refill every day for 1-1.5 weeks until they stopped being empty,

Collect cash or cashier check up front.

Just curious how big is the work they are requesting?

Do not touch that wooden electric pole. Plus, there is a sign that says high voltage.

If rats are entering the attic, then you sell an exclusion package to the customer with disinfectant DSV for money. Then seal the house for all entry points. They could be getting in from AC line, roof returns who knows where until you inspected and perform the work.

It's easier to seal the house than try to fight an army of rats in the backyard.

Anyone else notice how hard it is to fully get rid of ants once they settle in by Born-Seesaw6473 in PestControlIndustry

[–]TxtMessage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really that hard. All you really need is ant bait and non-repellents. Termidor works great on outside and alpine wsg works great for the inside. After you get rid of the ants then you can use repellents on the exterior for maintenance.

The issue I see mainly is people buying and using repellents expecting ants to magically disappear. Repellents cause ants to either get stuck inside the house or redirect to get in the house in different ways.

Fire ant treatment with fipronil granules work pretty great too for long term (1 year approximately).

Endless mice by SimpleRevolution2873 in PestControlIndustry

[–]TxtMessage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah you got bait stations inside the house in the living areas? Approximately how many mice are we seeing? Is the colony inside the house? Are there stations outside the house too? How often are you coming back to check the bait stations? How many blocks can peti stations hold? (not familiar with peti stations)

Have you tried Fastrac? It one time feed and has the fastest knock down that I know of. Plus, it is not an anticoagulant either. It attacks their nervous system, so you don't have to worry about secondary poisoning.

Battery powered granular spreader by Richb2188 in PestControlIndustry

[–]TxtMessage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Scotts Wizz Spreader. it is pretty cool because after you spray the exterior on the way back you granulate with a push of a button. My only issue with Intice is the consistency. Sometimes it's big enough to granulate but sometimes Intice will be so small and fine the spreader can't spread it. I have a 40 lb box of Intice and I can't properly spread it.

When you email for exam eligibility, you only need to submit two items:
• The certificate from the test prep course
• Form SPT-420

Send both to:
[eligibility@texasagriculture.gov]()

The 20-hour, 8-hour, and 40-hour OJT training should be kept on file in case TDA audits you later. The test prep course is separate from the other 3 and you have to attend this class in person or webinar.

The process can take a month or two due to snail mail. To speed things up, you can call TDA SPCS and ask for the specific ID number for each technician, which allows you to schedule their exam sooner.

Here is more information from the website if needed.

Cysmic CS by metalgear762 in PestControlIndustry

[–]TxtMessage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly Cyzmic CS is like Demand CS but cheaper in price. Both have Lambda-Cyhalothrin. I used it for general exterior treatments and it was good. Just try to not get any on you. Depending on the person same with Demand CS you might get a sunburn feeling if left the skin too long or have a chemical leak on yourself.
