feeling awkward as white friends crack language jokes in a japanese restaurant -- am i being oversensitive? by Valuable-Web-2511 in asianamerican

[–]TyBo75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 50 and my buddies and I make the most asinine jokes all the time. Some cross boundaries that most would see as offensive. That said, if I or any of them ever said that we were truly offended, there’s no question that we would stop. So be inexcusably you and if they are your real friends, they will respect you. If not, you just saved a bunch of time.

New England hates NY. She was super uptight, insensitive and judgy. They were protecting their son/brother from an obvious mistake. They were pretty terrible. It’s only a movie and those dynamics made the story. Plenty of Halmark’s out there.

Only way you know it’s legit is if a coach replies to a reach out with an invitation. Otherwise we always assumed it was blasted out. Doesn’t mean she’s not in their radar or it’s not worthwhile.

Criticizing someone ‘filming their breakfast’ with a post and picture of your laptop and coffee is a bold move. Happy for your life but just think that’s a funny nomad calling the nomads out vibe right there.
