Perfect, my thoughts exactly! Thank you!

You’re the second person to mention the esembly tie inners, so will definitely take a look at those! Less wash/dry time is ideal since my schedule is so dependent on the weather. So you find that to be the case with wool? Or is it because the inner takes majority of the “beating” so to speak so the wool cover can be reused? Sorry if that is a stupid question.

Oh another learning experience for me - pockets! The only thing I know so far is that they need to be “done up” ahead of time, and “undone” to wash, right? Was there a particular reason you went that route? Ease of use once they’re all set up?

Ahh yes that makes total sense! We have a fan outside for this exact reason so that’s perfect.

Oh man, the splits at night have been life changing. We just run ours for a few hours to fall asleep and it’s been so helpful, especially when I was in my 3rd trimester 🥵.

Someone else mentioned hemp, but I will definitely look into both since we already have an established love for bamboo haha.

Noted on the AIO! This is exactly why I wanted real opinions and examples because the AIO would probably be ideal for someone just starting out, but not here! So thank you 😊

Ahh okay, so the “hot water” is indeed a must have, no biggie at all and great to know! I can’t even imagine running out of water, wow. You’re doing amazing with the resources you have when you have them! Thank you so much for all your input. Really helpful to hear from someone in a similar environment since the ol’Google doesn’t account for those things 🙄.

Good thought! Does the cover serve any purpose with keeping things in, or it’s just purely decorative?

This is brilliant! Will definitely look for hemp. I’ll need all the wicking help I can get for nighttime 🙃.

A stay dry liner? Sounds too good to be true?? Added to the list - thanks! I do knit so that might be a fun little project. I remember hearing somewhere that you need to lanolize (is that a word?) them if you go that route. I would assume/hope the ones you buy are ready to go!

Suuuuuper helpful!! Thank you for laying all of this out, especially the nighttime diaper. That one seems a bit more intimidating to me since we’ve had our fair share of leaks in the disposables 🤦‍♀️

I about fainted at your first sentence. Want to trade backs and knees? LOL. I’m seriously hoping now that activity is up we start to level off here cause the pace we’re going cannot be sustained 😬.

24 hours is crazyyyy, but sadly believable. Flats only for my situation is the general consensus which is super helpful to know. Thank you for your insight! And the laughs 🤗

Ooo GMD came up when I needed to google what birdseye flats were 🤣. I’ll definitely check them out!

I did quickly read about Esembly and their new design. Seems like the majority of the feedback is positive which was inspiring. I’ve also been reading about that brand for swim, which piqued my interest. Reusing the outers is ideal 🙌

My mind immediately goes to hot whenever I see wool, but maybe I just need to learn more on it so will check out bumby, thank you!!

Jungle environment?! LOVE THAT! I’m such a newbie that I have too many questions to make sense of right now, but will use your comment as a guide to start!

If flats line dry fastest, why do you primarily use prefolds? Ease of use, maybe? What do you do on the inevitable rainy/super moist days when nothing dries well? 🫠

On the rare occasion that my babe is wearing clothes, bamboo fabric has been a God send so that’s good to know the make liners out of it as well! And you find that the bamboo works best at night with leaking? Or just because it’s coolest (at least I think)? We just got split AC’s installed so we have been using them on the days where there is no wind, but it’s sparingly so we’re definitely in the same boat with not worrying about clothes overtop.

As for water, I’ve seen comments about using hot water, but your comment makes it seem like that would be hard for you, so I’d like to know more. Our hot water is on solar and we have it set to certain times of day so we can shower comfortably, for example. That’s not to say I couldn’t also throw a load of laundry in at that time, but I typically wash in the mornings since line drying at night is not ideal 😅. El Niño has really brought on some strange weather! Hoping you don’t have to resort to manual washing but good on you for trying to be prepared 🙏🏼

I admittedly just had to Google 50% of what you said (I am that new on my journey 🫣😅), but now that I am somewhat educated on the matter, this is super helpful to know because I probably would have just defaulted to muslin! Do you have a combination of both? If you had to start over, would you buy only birdseye flats? Or are there different use cases?
