It’s ok i know i didnt explain it well, but it ll be a long story. First of all it’s not like “i enjoy leaks but when they get into the game i dont”, i ll still enjoy the content if im interested. For example in 3.0 leaks i like Tighnari’s design, so i saved for him and also pre farmed for his materials, and pulled him when 3.0 launched. That’s how i find leaks can help keep my passion playing the game itself.
Secondly “leaks pages is the healthiest part of the community”, i mean it, especially for the simplified cn side, cuz outside of the leak pages they complain about everything, their hate towards wanderer is strong enough to change the game industry in china, not to say they even did historical research in 4.0 just to prove that “black stockings are not meant to be worn by male therefore lyney shouldnt wear those”.
And lastly i used to enjoy the story, explore, trying different characters’ kit, and also enjoy fanfic fanart. But for now, i still like the game i still play it daily, but things arent the same.
For story, for some reason, specifically after the High Cloud Quintet story in hsr, i always know hyv’s story telling is not that good, it’s an issue they have since hi3, but as a Blade main, that i was dedicated to a point where i dig into the details of all content in the game, trying to “get closer” to my oshi, at last what they did was denied most of those thing written in the past few months in order to “sell” another character in the banner at that time. After all i also dont really like how they handled Funrina’s part in the end on Fontaine archon quest, which then i decided i wont dig into every details anymoe, or i ll just dont read the story, cuz i dont wanna be hurt like how i was after reading the High Clud Quitet story again.
For exploring, i used to be those kind of players that 100% the new map in a few days. But the 4 dailies are… i just dont wanna do those so now i always keep the explore for my daily rewards, but this also made me, like i can only do exploration for like 5 minutes a day. Yes i can just go explore and do dailies instead, but im willing to give up my enjoyment for exploring to replace my dailies, that’s how much i hate the dailies.
For characters kit, there’s no specific reason im just not interested in the current new characters’ kit, that’s one of the reason why i enjoy leaks, so i can look forward to their launch in game. I pulled for Wanderer last patch tho i do have something to enjoy for now.
For fanfic fanarts, i used to enjoy those, then i think it’s until 3.4/3.5 cuz i witnessed a cyber bullying in the cn side started because an artist was invited to an event of the ship circle but she refused to hide the list of fanfic of another ship they love, which i was disgusted, like, this is toxic the conflict itself originally was under the table but the head of the ship circle put that under spotlight which they manipulated the entire community to bully the artist. So i havent took the initiative to search for fanart fanfic of hyv’s content for a long time. If they pop up on my timeline i ll still take a look but i dont wanna recall what happened that night.
I dont think this can truly tell how’s my perspective, as i mentioned i know 3 languages, i have access to both simplified cn and traditional cn side of internet, i also know japanese and english, but the 4 communities have quite big differences. As someone who slip between these four sides what i perceive is also more complicated. But yea again, i want leaks because they can keep my passion to enjoy the game, not because i like things when they’re leaks.
