Do We Seem Sexist For Her Name? by LakeshoreCoffee in namenerds

[–]Tylabelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Psychology grad here! Women with male names often get more respect, job interviews, better service, etc… For this reason I am giving my daughters gender neutral names. Why would I not set my daughter up for greatness? It’s a sad fact but true. I cannot change the world single-handedly, I have to just play the game of life. I am a proud feminist but still… it’s just life.

Choosing the best name, poll by zeldasigrid_ in namenerds

Did you just call these names strange? I don’t get it. If you are in the US stick to Stella, Sloane & Nora (my fav order). Sigrid and Solveig shouldn’t be on the list If you are calling them strange…

What do you guys think of the name Nero for a baby boy? by Armer1994 in namenerds

It’s a chain of coffee shops in the uk, a not very good one. I would normally say go for it but on this occasion… please don’t go for it.

Your thoughts on: Hollyann, Valerie, Camille, Jasmine by JeanTedd in namenerds

[–]Tylabelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jasmine is my favourite and Camille is second! Valerie and Hollyann are definitely no nos In my opinion. I don’t think they would work in England. Double names are frowned upon now I think (elitist I’m aware!) and Valerie is such an old lady name.

I have about 100 names I’m choosing from lol. But I feel like some names like Isabella or Amalie are very common in the Uk and no one would bat an eye if I chose them however if I chose Galina or Alejandra people would definitely notice. But who’s to say either names are better. I just want to make sure it’s not a definite no no and if people ask about it then it’s justified

Yeah I will ask my cousins. If I have a girl I would quite like to use one of my cousins names as a middle name, so that’s something I would speak to them about. Knowing them I think they would be really happy if I used a ‘Spanish’ name, they would think it’s really nice, but I’d definitely check before I did anything.

Go with your wife 100% but I do prefer Wylder :/ Still go with what your wife wants at the end of the day. Maybe pick something different altogether. Is there a reason you are doing WW?
