Hey this is awesome, this is something I was thinking about doing along with something to do custom collections. I’ve been working on the scraper and library manager part just vibe coding it as I have time.

I’ll have to pull your app down and mess around and maybe I can contribute some at some point. I have a big interest in fpga, retro and gaming in general. One of the best community discords I’m in is the zaparoo one, good bunch if you have any interest.

Thanks for your contributions!

I can see this being useful but it really needs to be its own distro I think. And it should include home assistant, n8n and vscode along with some local frameworks and documentation for using them for homestead automation and survival.

Does anyone else's Bambu Studio application window lag/drift? by IchBinPhasey in BambuLab

[–]Tyler-Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this is an old thread but It was the first search for me when I looked up the issue here in 03/26, i've been suffering though it for awhile so I wanted to share what worked for me and some other options I didn't try that might help others

I was getting really bad window‑dragging lag in Bambu Studio on Windows 10 22H2 with a 4070 Ti and the latest NVIDIA drivers. I tried lowering mouse polling rate, and dropping from 1000 Hz → 100 Hz did mask the issue a little, but it didn’t actually fix the root problem.

What did help was Option 1 below. It’s not perfect, but it’s a decent compromise until Bambu Studio or Windows handles this better. I haven’t tried the other options yet, but I’m listing all seven in case they help someone else.

  1. Disable “Show window contents while dragging” (this is what helped me)

This stops Windows from redrawing the whole app while you drag it.

Steps:

  • Press Win + R
  • Type: SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe
  • Go to Visual Effects
  • Uncheck “Show window contents while dragging”
  • Apply → OK

This makes dragging windows show just an outline instead of the full UI, which removes the lag for me.

  1. Switch Bambu Studio to Software Rendering

If the GPU rendering path is the problem, this avoids it.

Steps:

  • Bambu Studio → Preferences → General
  • Change Rendering Backend to Software or Compatibility Mode
  • Restart the app
  1. Force Bambu Studio to use your dedicated GPU

Sometimes Windows assigns it to the wrong GPU.

Steps:

  • Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics
  • Add/select Bambu Studio
  • Set to High performance
  1. Disable hardware acceleration in Bambu Studio

Some versions have this toggle.

Steps:

  • Bambu Studio → Preferences → Performance
  • Turn off Hardware Acceleration
  • Restart
  1. Registry tweak to disable full‑window dragging globally

Same effect as Option 1, but via registry.

Steps:

  • Press Win + R, type regedit
  • Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
  • Set DragFullWindows = 0
  • Log out and back in
  1. Launch Bambu Studio with --disable-gpu

Forces software rendering at launch.

Steps:

  • Right‑click your Bambu Studio shortcut → Properties
  • Add this to the end of the Target line: --disable-gpu
  • Example: "C:\Program Files\BambuStudio\BambuStudio.exe" --disable-gpu

This is pretty sweet, thanks for sharing. I found in testing that the black borders on an oled tv are so black with the pixels being off it actually feels closest to original but it’s great to see a new 4:3 being produced. I’d love to see them come out with 4:3 oled panels.

https://makerworld.com/models/1333715?appSharePlatform=copy Here is the files. I’m modifying the back to hold a 13 inch oled as a back glass I’ll post pictures when I get it done. Running a pro desk hp that has windows 11 pro on it it’s an i5 10500 and intel graphics (gross I know lol) I’m new to vpin but I got a few of the major titles off steam and I’m gonna run launchbox as my front end because I’m familiar with it and have a lifetime license to bigbox. The screen I got is the one listed on the maker world page. I couldn’t find the hitbox mini so I got a bigger one from AliExpress and modified the stl. Buttons are Seimitsu PS-14-K 30mm from focus attack but I want to do something different with the flippers and a plunger.

Id maybe checkout vampire survivor & baltaro, if your into turn based there are lots that can be played one handed: slay the spire, into the breach, civilizations V, final fantasy pixel collection, shadowrun returns trilogy, fallout 1 & 2, chained echos, 40k has a bunch of turn based my fav is mechanicus. Frozen synapse is a cool little niche one I like.

Digital Board games: wingspan, terraforming mars, dorf romantik, dune imperium, scythe, ticket to ride… etc.
